Hi Warriors Need Some Help Please.

6 replies
Ive been looking at some sites and im trying to do what they do.

They have like a widget that displays their content but only say 50-100 words of their article then to carry on reading the article you have to click a arrow to move to the next section of the same article.

is there a wordpress plugin to do this.

I take it there doing this to create a user freindly site and also to show google that there going through the site.

Some help would great

Thanks

    An example would be helpful, so we can see what "they're" doing with "their" sites

    Do you mean something like this?

    This is my blog built with Wordpress. Here I created Read more button to have more posts on one page. So there is (instead of arror) Read more button to open the link in next page.

    Hi Jason,
    Sounds like you may be talking about the Insert more tag. In WP go to pages, find the page you want to work on and click edit. This brings up the text box where you can edit the content of what's displayed on that page. If you have an article that's got a lot of content, you can highlight it, then click on the Insert more button (3rd from right). WP should then display the beginning few lines of that article on your page, but the main body will be hidden and there will be a "read more" tab at the bottom right. If your reader wants to read the entire content they would click on that tab and then the entire body of the article would be displayed.

    As you say it is a way to keep your page looking clean and tidy, even if you have several long articles on that page.

    Not sure if that's what you're looking for specifically, but from your description thought that might be it. Hope that helps.

    Just insert the read more tag into your post:

    <!--more-->

    But, it's a free plugin that generates content snippets with read more links. It produces an image thumbnail as well.
