How to do an interview without wearing a headset?

INTERNET MARKETING

When I use my desktop microphone and computer speakers, the speakers are loud enough that the microphone picks it up and "echos" the other party's communication back to them. I could use my headset but I'd rather not because this will hopefully be a video interview.

Has anyone done a quality interview over Skype/other video-enabled application? What was your setup?

Can you use a Bluetooth or other wireless device? Then you just have a small earpiece.

Or do like the performers do, and look for a headset with a minimal boom and over-the-ear speaker.

I use a Blue Mic Snowball with a pop filter, then just use some cheap headphones to hear. The mic allows it to be very directional (setting 1 I believe) so if you use your speakers, your feedback should be less. It's cheap too, 60 bucks for the mic, 13 bucks for the pop filter.

There are some software for like 20 bucks that will allow you to record a skype call. Depends if you are Mac or Windows.

If you use a good microphone and set of speakers and set the gain and volume structure properly, along with proper positioning of the mic for that kind of usage, you shouldn't get feedback.

Try using a wireless microphone. Can be hooked up under shirt or belt.

  You could wear one of those motorcycle helmets with the microphone inside. That way, if you have a disagreement with one of your students you will be protected.
