I would say you're approaching this from the wrong angle.

Find a target market of hungry buyers first. If using organic methods for traffic find some easy to rank for keywords and then find appropriate affiliate products to promote.

Always works 10 times better if you can match the product to the audience rather than the other way round.

I tend to agree with Josh! Finding the hottest products or niche to promote isn't always the right thing.

      1. Suppose the hottest product is garbage or a scam (i.e. empower network) You go out and promote it and then users discover it's bad and now you look awful and lost credibility. You'll lose money that way too!

      2. And let's say the product is in a niche that you nothing about. You can try to build a website around that niche but it's going to be hard to fake it if you're a newbie because your content is probably going to be weak and folks are less likely to trust your hot product recommendation.

Focus your efforts on finding a niche you actually know about and can provide value in. Then look at the top competitors in that niche and see what they're promoting by getting on their list, visiting their blogs, etc. Try actually buying some of those products to see if they actually work.

If they do, then you should sign up as an affiliate and promote them. That's what I've done and it works pretty well. I avoid a lot of crap that way.

      Hope this helps.
