Windows VPS for Winautomation

Hello!

I've got a question about Windows VPS for Winautomation.
I need a fast CPU/Processor and RAM to run Winautomation. It's a script which involves a couple of heavy programs and I don't want the script to crash every second.

I did some research and found two possible options:

1. Blackbox RDP ($79.99 Monthly)
EliteBox
(8x Core) Intel Xeon Processor
4 GB Static Memory
Unlimited Bandwidth @ 100Mbps
240GB Usable HDD (RAID10)
2 Dedicated IP Addresses

2. Hostamus ($87.50 Monthly)
8.6 Ghz 6144MB 150 GB
8.6 Ghz (3x3.2 Ghz)
6144 MB DDR3 RAM
150GB Disk Space
1GB Port Unlimited Traffic
Windows 2008
1 IP
Remote Reboot Control Panel
XenServer Virtualization Technology

Which one should I choose?? Or is there another VPS company better?
Thanks for your help!

p.s. I know you need to keep a remote window active for the mouseclicks to work with Winautomation

    Hey Koentje03,

I have not had experience with the 2 VPS's that you mention, however I have always used PowerUpHosting for their VPS to run SeNuke and highly recommend them.

I will also mention that BlueHost has just launched a VPS service which might be worth looking into. I am considering trying it out as I have always used BlueHost for my hosting and their customer service is the best I have come across.

    Hope this helps buddy.

Just a heads up that their next version promises to not need mouse movements.

Wow!! That would be great. Mouse movements is my number one crash trigger

Yeah which is why I run my stuff on a VPs or inside virtualbox (which is actually pretty good because ,as you know, disconnects from RDP really mess up mouse recordings.

It's not just the Memory and CPU which counts when talking about a heavy application like winautomation you need to take disk Speed in account as well. A well configured RAID (Probably 10 If they can provide - Speed + Redundancy ) or a SSD Disk. Finding such on a Windows VPS will be difficult but well worth..

For Windows VPS, I go with a good provider like:
    - LiquidWeb
    - EuroVPS
    - SolarVPS

Solar VPS used to be my VPS provider of choice but then they were bought out and my last experience with them was absolutely awful. They are merely living on the name they bought but they offer nowhere near the former groups service and support.

        Huh?

SolarVPS is owned by DedicatedNow (FortessITX) and has been for years now. At least 2006, if not years earlier. They have other brands, like the defunct but up JVDS and current VPSColo.

So either you're talking about a 8+ year old buyout, or you have the wrong information.

I actually think SolarVPS has never changed hands, and is still with the original founders.

If anything, I didn't care for SolarVPS in 2006, which is why I've been with EuroVPS since then. But now, years later, SolarVPS is a good option, offering Xen-based Windows and Linux plans.

So honestly, I have no idea what you're referring to.

Third option - You don't have the right information. A new company was formed only two years ago that brought DN into the picture.

Managed Hosting Leaders DedicatedNOW, SolarVPS Announce Merger

and I am not the only one who thinks their service has gone downhill since. WHT has some of the complaints. Its a mixed bag with them and I was a customer of theirs in their first year of operation. At that time there was no mixed bag. They were across the board phenomenal now not much and my last experience with them support wise was the WORSE I have ever dealt with in a VPS provider

The hosts I suggested all have RAID-10.

Hostamus has been good for me when I was doing SEO! I request PC resets all the time because I often use way too many threads on my scrapebox. Their service is spectacular, the longest I've waited is 1 hour for a reset

It was a merger, not buyout. Got it. I never paid attention to the DN part, and never knew the history. The same people are still in charge of SolarVPS, however. It's not like Hostgator was. What's odd is I think their service is now better.

I'll keep my eye on it. I've not seen anything bad at WHT.

I suggest them after LiquidWeb and EuroVPS anyway.

Well like I said I was a customer of theirs from their first year of business So I do know their history. The details of the merger were never revealed but it quite clearly became a new company and its easy to find some of the complaints.

Need reviews about solarvps - VPS Hosting - Web Hosting Talk

If they work for some fine but I concur with the guy in the link. Their support was so horrid I cancelled within a few weeks and demanded a refund.

I remember 2005-2007 as their worst time, with some (not lots) of negative posts online. It's why I didn't use them back then. I've excused it as growing pains. I've not seen anything bad since. Quite the contrary, in fact. I've had lots of praise for them. People have even thanked me for suggesting them, and used them for months-years.

Interesting. Like I said, I'll keep closer watch for a while. Thanks.
