Hi all

I have a quick question about eBay
Is there a facility to search for keywords the same as google.
I need to find out if a couple of specific words are being searched for and if so how many.
I've got a few products I can get cheap and are not currently for sale on eBay at all so is a great opportunity

Thanks

Dave

Hey Dave, I don't believe a keyword tool for ebay exists, if one does I'd love to know about it... Ebay does use an algorithm like Google for ranking listings, but just like Google most of that algorithm is a mystery...

I always take a look at whats listed highest, than I try to mimic those listings. If your product is truly unique and you can't take that approach, you should try a simple split test...

Create a few listings, all with different keywords, some with listing descriptions, some with out, and then see which are getting the most attention. You can then eliminate the dud that aren't getting any views and scale up (duplicate) the listings that are...

One more thing, I don't mean to be a "negative Nancy", but if the product you speak of isn't already on ebay, it may not be allowed...

There used to be Ebay pulse that told you what the trends were. It now looks like it is popular.ebay.co.uk (for me) might help you.

I love to use Ebay to turn my trash into cash. What I use is tera peak and it cost me $10 per month which is not a lot of money. They also give you for each item an average price. This is close to what yours will sell for. Maybe ten dollars is too much money gfor you. Depends on if you are interested in selling a lot, but that is my tool to find key words. Most of the old tools are gone. I miss the old Yahoo tools that were free. Believe it or not Yahoo use to have an auction years ago. Also, so did amazon.

And when you do start to understand the system... they change it. Must be drinking from the same fountain as Google.
