Steve Pavlina's niche strategy through 'Article Marketing'?

Hello,

I want to know, is it fine to use Steve Pavlina's marketing strategy? Is it successful?

For example, he works on 'Personal Development' and then promotes other things that link with his topic - photoreading, paraliminals, and sedona method etc.

Now, it appears that he's having success with this strategy, but is it truly successful if we use this strategy through article marketing?

Let's say, if we make this niche more specific, "Personal Development for Police Officers", and then give free details through articles and promote books like photoreading, bodylanguage, etc. - like stevepavlina - can we dominate the niche like this?

Or, should we stay focused on one specific micro niche like african dwarf frog, beat the speeding ticket, or hydroponics and then promote only one to two ebooks to subscribers? - I feel most of us already doing this.

This time I want to try Steve's marketing strategy but in a different niche through article marketing, but I am not sure whether it is successful or not... So, I want to know your opinions and advice.

Thank you!

Regards.

Hi Chris, I have come across Pavlinas blog and forum countless times and often wondered how he does so well. I can't really offer advice but here are my observations. He seems to promote a couple of self help products in the sidebar or at the end of some content. He is not very aggresive with affiliate marketing from the looks of it.

Also he holds seminars so makes money there.

His domain and "authority figure-ness" (if there is such a term) is very very aged. So he has that advantage.

I would think starting with targetting long tail keywords is a sure shot way to work like you mentioned. As I said I am not sure but just wanted to add my 2 cents as per observations.

      This.

One thing that makes Steve Pavlina such a great marketer is his ability to write high quality, compelling original content, his domain is very aged which does certainly help for SEO purposes, but also how transparent and honest he operates his business.
