This question might be weird but...

Here is something that just came into my mind: the last product that you got, that DIDN'T work, what happened?

You don't have to mention what the name is. When you applied it, what actually happened?

There's probably two ways this can go.

Either the product was hyped or saturated, so even if you followed through, you might not get the results claimed.

The other is the product had some merit, but people don't follow through all the way.

It's been quite some time since I bought a product. Most of them had a few good tips at least and were workable methods if you put the time in. I don't think I came across one that flat out didn't work.

I did find some that had very inflated figures for what you could earn. In that sense, the method worked, but the income would not be near what was stated.

Never buy based on income claims. Bad move. Most of the information many of these offers claim can be found for free online. They mostly target people in a hurry, retirees, young guys looking for shortcuts, etc. After you get burned a few times, you'll wise up and realize most of this stuff is free.

100% true. unfortunately people look for ways to make money without doing any work which doesn't exist. To be successful online you have to be willing to learn and work hard. Instead of buying a bunch of crap products people would be well served by a simple word, outsourcing.

I won't name the product, but after buying there was a necessary tutorial to follow. As I wanted it to actually work for me, I followed their tutorial to the letter, I was convinced the guys that sold it were the real deal.

The result - I had my Adwords account shut down with no recourse for appeal .. I tried in vain many times to explain to the google adwords team what had happened, but all I had from them was a generic reply referring me to their ambiguous TOS.

    lesson learned.

I think if we do exactly as taught in the previous product (if it's a course) or get along with the manual guide, but still we can't make use of it, then .... :
    1. I will be a bit (yes, just a bit) fed up because I wasted my time trying it.
    2. I will ask for a refund along with their money back guarantee policy (I prefer trial period than refund policy)

We bought a product to solve a problem, the product will be called "a good product" once we can solve the problem using the product we bought.

LOL...first, I was angry with myself for falling for good marketing headlines. Second, I DID NOT ask for my money back according to their 100% guarantee. Instead, I learned from my mistake and I immediately went and re-wrote my headlines on my landing pages to include the same action words that theirs did. Because, if it got me to buy, then therefore it should get my clients to but too, right? LOL, I looked at it as coming across a really excellent copywriter and viewed it as an opportunity to learn how to write better sales copy.

There are great products around that actually WORK, but sadly there are also those that are designed simply to take money out of newbie marketers... Unfortunate but true... Based on my own experience I believe the key is to pick out a long and proven method and then master it by looking for products that are more specific and not overly hyped..

E.g. Method:List building through join ventures, Product to look for: How to set up successful JVs (don't know if this product actually exists..just shooting whatever comes to my mind:X)

Just my two cents worth here though

I buy alot that don't fully work as advertised, if I bought on those conditions I would probably never buy anything.

I try to think of it like this. If I can get one thing out of it I don't know that helps then its worth it.

On the other hand if I get it and have used it all and its old rehashed stuff I get my money back.
