Hi all... I have been busy twitting for some weeks now and I have collected about 1000+ followers. Most of the followers are in to a certain niche and today I tried driving some traffic to my site with a tweet. The clickthrough traffic from that tweet is almost close to ZERO and I am wondering if anybody have had good results with driving traffic from their tweets. Would love some info on what is the average clickthrough rate from a good tweet? From your experience, what is the best way to drive traffic from a tweet? Any advice will be greatly appreciated...thanks! |

It'll depend on how 'targeted' your followers are. I've got a couple of accounts and the one with the most followers gets the fewest clickthroughs because they were added using a script I wrote..

Maybe I am missing something obvious here because it's early morning. How do you measure the CTR? Against your # of followers? Correct me if I am wrong but there is no way to measure the # of views your tweet gets. People who follow thousands may never see your link. |

I got 4 accounts my largest account of 1200 gets a few clicks here and there, one of the other accounts with only 70-80 followers seem to click on health related stuff over webmaster type stuff, even though the majority are webmasters.. The rate is around 25-88% clickthrough. Use a url tracking app(I'm using All Your Tweet) and just see which accounts respond better to different content. create highly targeted twit accounts . It's mostly trial and error. I'm considering on one account just mass following people, get mass followers and test conversions on different niches. whether that would work remains to be seen. |

There is really no way of getting anything like a CTR on tweets given that (as mentioned above) you can't guarantee how many people are even viewing your tweets. Additionally, twitter search has become a noticeable player in the search world... so you could actually be getting tweet views from people who are not following you. Obviously then, you could even be getting clicks from these searchers (which makes any CTR metric even less meaningful)

The only metric we've been able to pull is about 150 clicks for every 10K followers. I think that's low because it depends upon how targeted your follower list is and how attractive your link is. This measurement is for stuff that's purely commercial. Post something about breaking news or a funny video and you'll see a lot more because of the retweet factor. So if you're willing to pay $0.05/click, 1 tweet/day for 30 days is worth $225 per 10,000 followers. |

As for the "how".... I have been tweeting about stuffs that gives great values to the niche that I am following, which is the IM niche. Of course the tweets are great news on SEM, SEO, social media, affiliate marketing, etc frm sites like techcrunch, sphinn, wall street journal, etc. IMHO my followers are getting great free content to better their knowledge. Since I have collected more than 1,000 followers, I am thinking to occasionally promote some stuffs, maybe once or twice a week. So, I am checking if there has been good results with other twitter marketer. Thanks! | |

it completely depends on the link that i am showing. I have for example a art list of free ping sites on my blog and the link through to that will be retweeted several times and will get me about 300 clicks through to that page on my blog. Other optin ones will get me 100 clicks from just one link it totally depends on what time of day and how many people retweet it. Whats your retweets being like (RT) as this is a perfect place to start with analysing the data. My results may be different to other peoples though as i have an above average following. |
