Hi,
Wondering if anyone had any experience or input as to when is the best time to start and stop an Ebay listing--time and days? Thanks. |

Most folks I know doing ebay swear by Sun and Mon nights as the best times to end auctions. A lot of traffic then, apparently.

Hey Ladybugg...
Sunday nights between 8 and 10 is golden, and Monday comes in 2nd. That's when the site gets the majority of its traffic, so having your listings finish then usually results in more bids and buyers. Good luck -David Raybould |

Hi Ladybug - I've been doing eBay for some years now (10,000+ good feedback) so will offer you my thoughts. I'll start with the days that I find the least productive. Friday night would be the absolute worst night to end and auction, then followed up by Saturday night. So this would leave us 5 other options. If I had to pick only one night out of the week to end an auction on it would probably be Thursday. I typically try to set my auction's ending time somewhere between 8:30 - 9:30 CST. Regarding Monday night ending times: about the only thing there to be concerned about would be competing with Monday night football if your were targeting primarily men. Good luck to you - Michael

For the few things I sell, I list them on a Wednesday, as a 10 day auction / BIN, so they end a week on Saturday.
This also gives your auction the added exposure of a full weekend + finishes on a Saturday. |

You can search on terrapeak to see what day is best for what you're selling - there's different buying trends for different products. I usually list everynight except Friday night. But I do like ending things Friday afternoon when people are killing time waiting to get off work.

I've found that finishing Thursday nights and Sunday nights better. Also, if you list on a Thursday for 10 day auction, it'll finish on Sunday and you get 2 whole weekends out of it. Or, for a quick sale, you could do a 3 day auction.
As with everything though, you need to test as sometimes different items get different results. Depends on what you're selling. |
