You could give away free copies in exchange for a video or written testimonial?

Post a "Reviewers Wanted" thread here (it's $5):

I know I can sale this for $1295 Click Bank is robbing me with their new product new vendor rule. So giving it away feels like i'm slitting my throat because the information is so viable. However giving it away to Betas is something to consider however something I do not preference.

Oh, I see. Bit pricey for my suggestion.

How about: a meetup, a local mastermind workshop, or Google Hangout /webinar where you walk people through the product for free in exchange for a 1-2 minute video testimonial. If you feel you can't share without giving away the baby then you seem to be stuck waiting for buying customers.

So how about offering buyers discount REBATES if they provide you with a testimonial within a time period after purchase. You could offer different rebates for a review, a video, or a quotable blurb. When they send you the testimonial, you credit their PayPal or whatever.

        Good luck breaking the ice!

Coincidentally I've spent a good part of today writing about veripurchase which is a social proof widget fo clickbank vendors (my writing was a blog post - eBook & Internet Publishing News»Blog Archive » Using Social Proof to Increase ClickBank Sales in case you were wondering). My understanding is that veripurchase is actually invisible until yoU make your first sale, so it's upto you to get the ball rolling.

Anyway, my real point is to you need to make some sales and build on that with whichever tools you choose to use.

You also should remember that Social proof is something that can help you make sales, and help you make more sales, but it isn't something required to make any sales.

Just write a good sales letter for a good product, and drive targeted traffic to it, and you will begin making some sales.

What you then need to do is maximise the value of those initial sales. I'm not talking about direct monetary value here, but value as a platform on which to build your business.

Email each customer personally, thank them, help them, listen to their feedback, help them overcome issues, maybe even adjust the product based on their suggestions. You will be amazed at the testimonials, Facebook posts, and other sorts of help that customers will generously give you, if you are generous in your help and attention to their needs and concerns.
