How should I sell Video Course

Hi Guys would like some feedback if you will. I am doing some videos courses and wonder what is the best way to offer them. Should I keep them private "not hosted anywhere" or have a login section on my site so that buyers can login to watch them?

Thanks in advance,
Bryant

    Membership website (login section).

I think a membership site would be best, and hosted with Vimeo or Amazon S3.

Membership site but allow members to download the videos. There is nothing worse than having to watch all the videos online. I think if a customer has paid money for the videos they should be able to download them and watch them over and over again on their computer.

This also reduced your bandwidth charges since they only have to download everything once.

A membership site sounds like a good idea! Do you plan on releasing the videos all at once or over time? If over time, make sure to email your buyers to let them know when a new video is up.

Consider putting them on DVD. People tend to value them more highly and you can charge more. I've done this for years with Kunaki. They fulfill and ship each order one at a time. Works like a charm.

Yes I am going to release them all at once as a complete front end package and DVD is a nice idea.

In addition to a membership site, consider posting your course on udemy. Udemy has a very clean lay out, a built-in customer base, and a strong affiliate system. You may be able to snag snag extra customers that you wouldn't get just through your affiliate site.

I will look at that, I am also still deciding which video host would be most secure so the video's aren't public, since I am selling the courses.

Amazon S3 is the standard for this type of thing.

You can create automatically expiring download links so each person has a unique download link every time they refresh the page and it expires after a set period of time so if they share it around on forums, etc, it will have expired.

You still can't stop those who really want to share your videos as they will do it regardless of what protection you have in place. So just use a membership site and Amazon S3 expiring urls and you'll be fine.

Membership site is the way to go, I think. People also like the feeling of having access to something of value if they have to log in etc.
Amazon S3 is where most people hold their videos for streaming, but, depending on the size of the videos and the quantity, you could also consider a pro account at Vimeo.
The risk with S3 is that people can always find the link to the video (by looking at the sources code of your web page) and pass it on publicly... this can cost you a fortune in bandwidth, seeing as you're paying for data transfer with S3.

Not if you use their expiring urls you won't. I have it setup so when someone loads the download page a new and unique expiring url is automatically created for that user. He can go and share that link around but it will have expired 15 minuets later (or whatever time period I choose) so it won't do much for him.

Amazon S3 is perfectly fine and perfectly secure, it's just that most people don't know how to use it properly and thus leave many holes open.
