After launch of fiverr v2, my gig sales are getting down

I think this is the issue with many fiverr sellers.
after the launch of fiverr v2. My gig that was getting 5-10 orders daily is now getting 0-2 orders daily.
If switching back to old version can help?
If all sellers are facing this issue?

  • Switching to the old version would most likely only affect the way you see and use the site, not how others see and find your gigs. I don't think that switching back on your end will increase your sales.

It is possible though that your gigs ended up being moved to a different spot further down the pages as opposed to where they were listed in the search results before the update. I might even take a gamble and say that there are probably sellers on fiverr who say that their sales actually increased since the update, with all the new layouts etc.

You might want to make sure that you are taking advantage of all that's available now.

It's definitely the buyers themselves. Many buyers just upgrade automatically without even paying attention to it.

The featured gigs are getting way more attention now as well and very few actually show up. Sometimes it'll say 1000 gigs are available for something and only 20 will show up for me.

It's also possible that a lot of people have stopped using fiverr since all the latest updates. I know a lot of sellers who have since boycotted the site.

yeah i was thinking this too maybe some competition has arisen in that same field that you are in hence the noticeable difference in sales.

      • I don't know what you guys are complaining about. The new Fiverr looks fantastic!

        (Oh. Right. No sales.)

The rating system has changed, too, and not in a good way. Now gigs get "votes" instead of positive feedback. One gig I looked at had six "votes." Five were from the same buyer, but it made the gig look more popular than it actually was.

So those of you who want to cheat and have your friends buy your gigs, have at it. That may have even been the intent, since Fiverr gets its dollar either way.

I miss the lists of gigs, since serendipity was a big part of the Fiverr experience. Now it seems you pretty much have to know what you're looking for. I don't understand that design decision. I thought they wanted people to discover the unexpected.

I have found that when sites make big changes (especially forums) users tend not to use the site for a while. Once users are familiar with the new layouts I am sure your sales will go back to what they were.

Correct. Choosing the old layout only affects how you see it, and I am sure that the old version will be phased out soon enough.

I would never count on them going back to what they were on their own. It's most likely a combination of factors that are out of the sellers control, such as: changes to search functions, changes in popularity of certain types of gigs, changes in Fiverr's overall traffic, changes to how many gigs display in a search result, and so on...

What a seller CAN control is: his or her feedback record, gig descriptions, the amount of traffic they send to their own gigs from external sources, the attractiveness of the offer, etc.

Work to improve what you can on your individual gigs, provide excellent and timely service so you can increase in your seller levels, find ways to bring traffic to your own gigs, and you'll see that over time the orders will come.

I think Fiverr will eventually realize the old layout was so much better. The navigation favoured quick call to action. They need to keep the front page as it was and also remove the map showing where the buyers are coming from, it does not help anyone but the admin of the site.

I found that many people are making complaint that their sales are getting down.
The point is that my regular clients are also not putting orders.
So i think fiverr will look at this.

You need to promote your gigs outside Fiverr. I would suggest you own a blog or site. A free blog should work. There are also plenty of sellers on Fiverr who offer to build sites for as little as $5.

Integrate your gigs on this blog or site. Ensure that you throw in some of your positive votes, to show credibility.

      And then promote....promote and promote.

It takes just a few hours of your time.

If you add this to the natural traffic from Fiverr, you are back to 5-10 orders a day.

      Good luck!

I do not like the new version. Basically, it is a mess. Oh yes, sales are down for us. Like this is no major surprise. Also, it is a lot harder to find gigs. Gotta hand it to the um FIVerror crew. They did manage a super screw up. Please remember this advice I am going to now give you.

After over 15 years in online marketing, I've seen this
repeated several times. A company starts simple and
is made popular with the "grass roots" customers. And
then the money starts flowing in and they think that they
must now change into a corporate look in order to reflect
their new status. In so doing the same "common" people
who made them great get squeezed out. I don't know
if this is what now happening at Fiverr.

The new site design is nice, but I don't like the message area to pull up old messages. I liked the old version. It was easier to see. My sales don't seem to be as steady as they used to. Now it seems like once a week I start getting a flood of sales and then I have about 4 days of quiet. They have definitely changed their algorithm. Hopefully the old design will come back, but who knows.

I found a bug on search.
I wrote local directory in search and clicked on high rating.
I found that a gig with only 20 feedback is on top and mine with 280+ feedback is below of that gig.
      What a stupid algorithm.

They never do. You will hear a lot of complain, moaning and groaning and then everyone will give in and settle down. People will just get used to it, better or worse.

I use Fiverr a lot, but hate the new layout. It's harder to find what I am looking for so I tend to stick to providers I have already used rather than searching for new.

Changes are always difficult. See the latest changes on Facebook. However, the new layout might be pushing your gigs further down the list and your visibility can be affected. I also believe it was easier to maneuver before these changes. The search section was working better then!

If I were you, I would check out Fourerr.com. They are not as well known, but, operate like Fiverr only they charge $4 instead of $5.
    Hope this helps
