Finding Affiliate Programs

I have a niche site outside the IM field and I would like to begin doing some affiliate marketing in this field.

Any suggestions on how to identify affiliate programs that are available in my niche?

Thanks
Kirk

    Search: "Niche" affiliate programs

Sorry to be short, but really that is all you have to do...

Then get more specific with your search like, Sub Niche affilate program

That's most of what I thought ... just wondering if it could get more complicated, or easier to define. Seems lot of folks in my industry don't know what an affiliate program is.

    Hi Kirk,

If your niche is on the Health and Beauty market, you can go to MarketHealth.com and look at the list of affiliate programs that are available. You will be able to promote real physical product and there are some multi-tier affiliate programs.

I hope this will be useful to you if you are in the Health and Beauty market

      Zack,

As old, tired and ugly as I am, I probably should be, just for my own benefit. But, sad to say, I are not.

Aff. marketing isn't just about ebooks and software - there is
a pretty wide range. Since you don't seem interested in
revealing your niche Kirk it's hard to make a suggestion that
would make the process easy for you.

Try to figure out what your subscribers are likely to have
an interest in buying... you will find there are affiliate programs
out there for just about every type of product - just reverse-
engineer from "if I were my subscriber I would want to buy..."
    to find the products.

      Kirk,

Have you tried the Associate programs com website?

They have a search box at the top of the page that lets you find affiliate programs based on your keyword.

      Hi Loren,

My niche isn't that big a secret. I market to accountants.

Most of the folks I contact are either (a) trying to sell accounting software or education to consumers and are reasonably familiar with affiliate programs, and have poor paying programs (Intuit, Quickbooks, for example), (b) sell high-end offline programs and have no way set up to track referrals, or (c) are paranoid about working with a competitor.

I'm starting to make headway, but I'm getting to the point where it's going to take some out of the wishing well thinking to communicate with some of these folks. Or maybe some let's go around the corner and whisper thinking.

Your line about reversing is very good though ... and one I had forgotten until you reminded me. Pretty much similar to "Where do my prospects hang out?"

What I need to find is someone who has a product that a bookkeeper, accountant or tax preparer would need to run their office or build their practice. Not another financial get rich now product.

      Thanks
