Is it Legal to Sell/ Transfer a Fiverr account ?

You know its funny about people. they say something is illegal and it's just against the sites toss. I would keep it low keyed and don't offer your username till you know the person buying. Illegal, doubtful, get you kicked off probably.

If doing something breaks the contract of the site that you have signed up to then it is illegal...

So you mean Fiverr if you break there contract can call the police and have you handcuffed. Do you honestly know how many people we would have in jail for that.
It's only illegal if its against the penal codes for your area. Most municipals don't inject fiverr Terms of Service to reflect there criminal code.

Legal is both criminal and civil. If you broke the Fiverr ToS they could quite easily sue you in court.

I never once said it was criminal.

Civil Law still makes a determination as to whether something is legal or not.

No it doesn't, civil law makes it that someone is right or wrong. Just because you lose a lawsuit doesn't mean it was illegal just means you were in the wrong is all.

"Illegal" means an opposition within the constraint of given rules - not specifically state law.

A person can make an "illegal" move in chess.

My neighbor has his dog bark all day just to annoy me, no not really but listen, dog barking in my neighborhood only applies to night. So I sue him for violation of my privacy, Do I get to send him to prison for it too.

I don't know much more I can add to this to make it make sense but a lawsuit does not mean a crime has been committed.

I think you two are talking about something unrelated. Yes you can change your paypal account in fiverr, think the other party is thinking changing the name and address within paypal.

Well this thread was a fun read so far. So let me jump in here and pose the question as to whether you are selling the attached Paypal account as well? Reason being, they are linked, and trying to get that changed would require to go through customer service, which would certainly put them on alert.

True I think with fiverr you actually have to mail them to change your paypal account.

Good question, but I have changed it from a personal paypal address to a business paypal which has totally different names without any issues.

It's fine if you know the person & you can trust him to whoem you are selling on legal terms Fiverr can ban your account if they got to know about it..But I don't think they have time for all this..Carry on if you are getting a good price.

Probably not illegal, but a definite violation of TOS and suspension of said account if discovered by Fiverr.

And yes, they watch very carefully what their users are doing. I personally got banned from Fiverr once for what I said through their chat system.

I am not on Fiverr do I don't really know what a level 2 status means but I am guessing is has something to do with credibility that you are a good service provider.

Well if that's the case, and someone can correct me if I am wrong, but if you were to sell your account, then you are also selling that "credibility" associated with that account are u not?

And if so, then isn't that misrepresentation?

I know in up here in Canada since there are two of you (buyer and seller) a good prosecutor could upgrade that to conspiracy to commit fraud.

But again I could be wrong.

I would say it is against their TOS and you are risking your account getting suspended but I think it would be difficult for them to track this unless they are monitoring IP access etc.

I don't think it would be illegal but would certainly break the TOS and put your account at risk.

Personally I wouldn't do it but if you are not going to use the account again you don't have much to risk. But it might endanger the changes of the new owner getting banned and wanting a refund from you.

Simple answer to your question is read: Fiverr's Privacy Policy & Fiverr's Terms of Service. Read word by word and play safe. It looks like that you had spend lots of effort in reaching level 2 so be careful before transferring!

There are certain conditions. Fulfill those conditions to make it legal. Go with the proper contract with the buyer of your account.

Aren't there certain rules or terms of agreement on this site? Why don't you read them carefully and see what they say. However, I do not see why this should be a problem if you talk to them. It is your decision and no one constrains you to do it. So why should they have a problem with it?
