I have heard on so many ways of driving free traffic, some don't work, some work very little, and some are great. Which ones are the best?

This all depends on which niche your blog is in.

If you are in an industry where there's a lot of activity on social media sites then that would be a great way to drive traffic.

Whereas if you're an industry where there's very little activity on social sites, then it would be rather pointless to focus too much time on that technique.

As an example, Worm Farming is a very popular niche. Believe it or not, I know of someone who makes good money from it. Using social media is pointless in this niche as barely anyone uses Facebook to find groups for worm farming enthusiasts. 90% of his traffic comes from organic search results.

If you specify your niche, you'll be able to get much more detailed suggestions.

    Hope this helps

I chose entrepreneurship over further education despite being laughed at by my friends and family..

I recently hit the "RESTART" button on my life, read my personal blog to find out how I did it :)

  • Write high-quality content for your site. Offer it to other sites in your niche (with a link back to your site). This will bring the targeted traffic you need, and as a secondary (and far less important) benefit, you will show up in the SERPs more often and get search traffic.

It will depend on many factors but the best way to find out is to try it out for yourself. It's through experience you will learn a lot with the help and guidance of other people though. Figure out what is best for your niche and campaign. Do some experimenting. Good luck!

Forum posting, social media, Youtube, guest posting, Yahoo Answers, to name but a few. The key to all of them is to provide value - good relevant information to your target audience will get you clicks and traffic.

What you want to do is pick 2 traffic methods and stick with them for about a month. At the end ditch the one that is least effective and concentrate of two more.

You really only need to master around 2 free traffic strategies at most and if you want 1 paid traffic strategy to get all the traffic you will ever need.

I'm not clear on why should you have to continuously copy/pasting the exact same paragraphs over and over?

I'll give you a nice list off the top of my head of the best methods..
    • Forums - you're already on one right now so you understand how they work, now you need to start joining forums that are related to your niche and including a signature link to your website
    • YouTube - Not all of your videos on YouTube will get you traffic, but in my experience YouTube is one of my best traffic methods because a video will sometimes get picked up and outrank everyone. In fact if you Google "youtube subscribe link" one of my videos shows up and I didn't even try to rank for it.
    • Facebook - I know I said YouTube was one of my best, but Facebook IS my best. It takes time of course, but once you build a Facebook page and get an audience following the page you can sometimes send out posts that can go viral and get you massive amounts of traffic.
    • Yahoo Answers - Another one of my favorites because you're literally answering questions that people are asking. If you notice a lot of people are asking the same types of questions in your niche, create a page on your site dedicated to that question and become a real source for information This way people trust you more and will be much more likely to click on your source link.
    • Guest blogging - You don't always have to pay for guest posts, in fact, a lot of really big marketers will sometimes PAY YOU to post on their blog. This especially works if you're a good writer and can help them get traffic. It's all about networking in the guest bloggosphere and totally worthwhile.

If you aren't using any of the tactics you better get on it and if you're only using 1 or 2, try and add some more into the mix and see what works best for your audience and marketing style.

    One last tip.

Just because YouTube works for me, doesn't mean it'll work for you. It's all about what you're comfortable with. If you break free of being uncomfortable and practice multiple methods of building traffic then you'll be ontop in no time

    Good luck!

Posting on forums like this one. If your niche is 'Fishing" then do a search for "Fishing +forum" if your posts are good people when then click on the links in your signature or the one in your post. Organic traffic is the best.
