Are article directory's still a viable option for good solid dependable and recurring income? or is this something that has run its course? Have any of you had any real success with an article directory? What software did you use and why?

    Seems like there are so many of them, you'd think it would be hard to break into. With EzineArticles adding the extra ads, makes you wonder if it is getting tougher to make the dough.

    Course, there is always ways to be different or think outside the box. I think there ways to make it, if you think out side the box. Every directory looks the same and works the same, probably because most are using the same scripts.

    They used to do well back in the days. Now it's saturated and harder to make it work. Also, Ezine articles improved the quality of their site, making harder for newer directories to compete.

    Based on my experience promoting a small niche site through article directories, only ezinearticles seems to send in traffic that converts to cash. But even ezine can't send people over in droves. One article marketer still insists though that article directories still have their value when it comes to link building.
