Noob to Internet Marketing. Please help!

Hey everyone, pretty new to all of this. I just created a website and am expecting that most of my revenue would come from traffic as I'm not selling anything on the site, although in the future I may set up things that link the viewer to amazon or something if they want to buy that product. I have been trying to copy and paste the google adsense code into wordpress but it still does not show up on my website for some reason. Can someone please explain why? I started a new campaign and got a new code for it and all. As well, are there any other sites like google adsense that put ads up on your site and pay you pretty well (and are reliable)?

Thanks! Sorry if I'm being a nuisance to everyone here but I hope to one day be like some of the people here that are making a lot of money from owning websites that contain content that they love.

    I'm just setting up an Amazon aStore for my site

    Still having trouble getting google adsense to work though...

      Hello, I am fairly new to the affiliate marketing world as well... And what I do with my Adsense banners is:1: create text widgets on the sidebars(these text widgets display HTML and several other programming languages)
      2: just paste the Adsense HTML in these widgets and save
      3: refresh the page and it should be there!

        See that's my problem! It doesn't seem to appear when I do that. Any idea why that could be happening?

    get a plugin like quick adsense and try to join different affiliate programs like webhosting (hostgator), CJ, Clickbank, amazon.

    Besides Adsense i dont like it especially adbrite. There is also direct advertising and as well as infolinks.

      Thanks. I have amazon set up for a store on my site. Do they also offer money for posting ads on the top and side of my site? I thought Google was the only big company that did this.

        No the visitor has to buy the product for you to get rewarded. Google Adsense pays for every click.
