How to get rid of a pipe at the front of my website title "|"

I have a new website: seoservicescoventry.com the site is all up and running and doing fine but the problem is when I go on my site theres a pipe "|" that, before the title, shows up on the tab and don't know how to change it.

I was thinking is it the theme as this has not happened with any other sites and I do have quite a few wordpress sites. If you check the site you will see its | SEO ........ Can't get rid of that pipe?

Thanks
Tom.

Are you using any seo plugin?

If so see if you have an option to force rewritting page titles. Check it and then try.
Had something once where yoast seo was doing something similar and thats all it was.

  • Tom,

It depends on how you configured this site. If this is a static home page, you would change the title under settings -> general and site title. If it is a page that you created, you would change the title underneath the editor in the page that you created (in any SEO plugin that you are using).

It could be that its hard coded into the template as I see on your about us page that it says about us and then the pipe and then your URL. You would change that in probably header.php.

    Best,

    Shawn

Had a fiddle with the header.php file in the theme but couldn't get it sorted, took the pipes out of the code but they kept coming up. So took that whole code paragraph out and it was still there?!?

Then deleted the header.php file and was still there, so not a header problem?

It is the theme though, just changed the theme and it was edited to what it should be. So might just look for a new theme instead of looking for what was wrong with the file in the old theme.
