What's Old is Scam Again

A few yeas back, some idiots thought it would be a great idea to harness a bug in Windows Messeger to spam the living daylights out of other computers via a popup message on your desktop.

Now I just got an email for something similar, this time with Windows Live Messenger. Here's most of it below (I removed the sales links):

"Using multiple points of presence and anonymous proxies
we have devised a way to send instant messages to almost
45 million english speaking Windows Live Messenger users
daily. Our service will take your 412 character or less
advertisement and a link to your website and display it
on the messenger screen of a user in a matter of seconds.
Our in house beta testing has produced a 100% success rate
in multiple studies done over the past 6 months. You can
even use emoticons to get your message across with flair."

If you buy into this, don't blame me when Paul Myers comes to your door to beat you with a clue by four...you've been warned.

I just saw on twitter today an ad for a scam that teaches people to "legally steal content" to make their own reports. I was very impressed. Impressed enough to block the idiot advertising it. I wonder how many people will end up with plagiarism lawsuits following that kind of advice.
