Solo ad is very popular. The other is using banners. It depends on whether you want to use free or paid advertising method.

My main and only traffic sources are Adwords and Bing.
PPC proved to be the best traffic source for generating leads. It's consistent and fast!

What hasn't been mentioned here is it's not an easy strategy when you don't understand it, so it will be difficult to kind tell how much visitors you would receive. Obviously you will receive loads and it can wipe your budget pretty fast nice and easily.

However, once you sort of master it, then it can be a lucrative way of generating yourself very fresh and unique and genuine leads as compared to say solo ads.

My favorites at the moment are.....

        - Forum Marketing - Get involved in your related niche forums. This can bring in some high quality traffic.
        - SEO - This is bit boring, as you always have to keep up with the search engine. But what I kind of love about this particular traffic source is, Once you get a site ranked, your get passive and autopilot traffic for months and even years. I have sites, that are bringing me traffic even after 8-9 months of work. I haven't touched them since then. Though some of them has taken a hit in the recent Google updates, but still, I am getting traffic of the search engines.
        - YouTube Marketing - This is awesome, if you knbow how to get a video ranked It can bring some really fast traffic. It much easier to get a YouTube video ranked than a website. I have got results in weeks. Good stuff!
        - Guest Posting - For this, you need to build a reputation with the blogger. But it can bring you some real serious traffic pretty fast, if you can get a chance to guest post ion a popular blog in your market. I have even tried paid guest postings and they work pretty well. You just need to make sure the site you are posting to has some good PR to it and also popular in the niche.
        - Content Syndication - Write a single article and distribute it to all over the net by converting it to all the other various possible formats. like PDF, video, audio, eBooks, PowerPoint presentation etc... As Pat Flynn says, Be everywhere! This is a wonderful source of traffic that will keep bringing in traffic for a long time to comes.
        - Solo Ads - This is one of the fastest of the traffic sources. But you need to be really careful on whether the person you are dealing with is genuine and the offer you are promoting converts. You also need to get a good email sequence to build that credibility with your subscribers & a proven sales funnel in the back-end to get the most out of it. You actually need to have some cash to burn to start this. But once you know your numbers, its is traffic on steroids. FB ads are also working pretty great at this moment. But just makes sure you know what you are doing, or paid traffic can get very expensive.

All these have proven to work for me. I hope these helps you to get started!

About PPC, it would depend on the keyword you're targeting. Some are cheaper than others. It depends on the competition for that keywords. Do some research and test small if you have never tried it before. It can be a big loss if just throw the money away.

I might be bias here, but I also think PPC is one of the best routes to go. Some tools that you might want to arm yourself with would be a nice list of fairly tight keywords, which can also work really nicely in tandem with a list of negative keywords, but most importantly the ability to track down to the "T". When I say down to the "T" I mean down to the source/sub-source level, to have a clear understanding of performance, or lack thereof. Once you have established what your cost per acquisition is, (in other words, what it costs you on an average to get a conversion) you can try different reputable sources of traffic, for small amounts and test. Good luck! ~Collin

AmitabhB answer is good, and detailed and so are the rest.

For me, i would just add on joint venture with warrior is the best

And depending on niches, FB can work better than Google (with offers like dating niche, socializing or custom items selling like creatives).

And definitely solo ads if you have budget to consider and need to test your marketing funnels too

Article Marketing, Video Marketing, Solo Ads and Email marketing. Focus on one, get good at it (5-10 leads per day) add another and master that. Spend 90 days on each new marketing strategy and master it.

  • It really all depends on your niche and your audience. I've had the most success with the following:

SEO (In the good old days it was my main source of traffic and still drives most of it.)

Solo Ads (You can obviously buy them or do a swap. I've also asked vendors I'm a top affiliate for if they would mind doing a blast on my behalf and that's worked very well.)

PTC (Yep, if you know how to create an appealing landing page and pick the right PTC site it's worked very well for building email list and making me a couple of hundred dollars per month. But it only works in the make money niche though.)

    Limited success with:

    Blog Commenting
    Facebook

Creating a product and getting affiliates to drive traffic.
Contests for affiliates can also help.

Along that same line, try a WSO.

I have a list of free and paid traffic sources that will be beneficial for everyone, I am a new member so I'm not 100% sure on the rules and don't want to post any links if that is not allowed here but here are some of the free traffic sources....

YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Forums, Blogging (seo) use the floating capture page to increase opt-ins, Free press releases, Slideshare, Guest blogging, Stumble upon, Delicious, Squidoo, LinkedIn, Yahoo answers, Blog commenting, Craigslist, safe list, viral list builders.

For paid traffic sources I'd have to say solo ads are king, there are safe list solo ads which will run 10,000 emails for $10 but I don't think they're as high quality as a list owners solo ad. There's banners, adwords, adsence, cheap search ads, media buys, myspace facebook and twitter ads, ppv ad network, ppc, text ads on high traffic sites, there's also places that sell exit pop traffic.

Thats about everything I can think of right now, hope it helps.
