Hi warriors,

Anyone on monthly subscription with shutterstock.com?

The monthly subscription is quite expensive though it allow 25 photos download per day , I would like to hear warriors reviews about shutterstock if someone is using it.

Thanks

  • If you are able to make use of downloading 25 images per day at a total of 750 images (30 day month) for a project that you are working on, and if the license and image resolution etc for the images provided are suitable for your needs, then it may be worth it.

However I do think that their subscription pricing is somewhat inflated and makes it appear to be a great deal based on their individual image pricing. ($29 for 2 images? am I seeing that right?) It may be suitable for larger media companies and corporations, but in my opinion most marketers only really need an image that will cost $1 on Fotolia.

I agree with Arnold (above). I have an account at Shutterstock but not a subscription.

I prefer to purchase images on a pay-as-you-go basis. Twenty-five images a day is a lot unless you have an ongoing need to this many images. If I were to subscribe, I know I would end up with a lot of images that I didn't really need just to "justify" my purchase of a daily subscription.

I use all the following sites on a pay-as-you-go basis:

      Dreamstime
      Shutterstock
      iStockPhoto
      Fotolia
      123RF
      DepositPhoto
      (all are dot coms)

By checking the images in each one using targeted search functions they all have, it's pretty cheap and fast to find what I need.

      Good luck in your search,

      Steve

I have never used fotolia, Do they have a good variety?
Does the $1 fees for all sizes or only smaller and medium?

        thanks

that's what I thought, if I go for subscription, I would just be downloading images without using them
I only need 100 images sometime next month,

Steve, which one among the above has a good variety and cheap. I have only used Istockphoto from the list and photos for my niche are not very cheap there.... [I am after images of men, women and couples ]

I've got an account at shutterstock but find myself using the cheaper priced images at 123rf.com more often than not...

I'm a contributor with shutter stock, and when I want to download stock images I mostly go to fotolio because it offers more flexible pricing.

I had subscription shutterstock and if you are looking for lot of images, then the subscription plan will be the best option. Make sure to utilize the credit for every day though. Because, if one day you forget to download 25 images, that won't get added for the next day. Because of this reason, I lost many photos :-( It's time consuming to download 25 images everyday..
