Default New MySpace Targeted Advertising

MySpace new targeted ad program seems like it could become an amazing advertising source down the road.

You can target by age, relationship, education, location, and interests/occupation.

The only thing that stinks about it at this point, though, is that you have only a small list of keywords to advertise for under "interests/occupation."

It's probably smart on their end, however, because we can't just type in the keywords we want and pay .01 per click. ...If so, it would be a goldmine for us.

The great thing is you can advertise by age. Generally homeowners above 30 have the most money. So you could target them.

...If only you could type in your own keywords instead of selecting from a limited list.

I'm wondering if this would be more responsive than Facebook ads.

In my experience, social networks can be a hit-or-miss based on how you are perceived. That includes ad markets too

Probably way too expensive right now because you have to compete on the list of keywords along with everyone else. But if MySpace ever becomes like AdWords, then it should be a goldmine for a while.
