Super important SEO plugin for wordpress

Hey Guys,

I've been using this for ages but I started to realize recently that it's not as popular as I thought..

This plugin's a little older but SO important for your SEO if you're running a WP blog.

It's called Search Meter and it monitors and tracks all the searches that are done on your blog's internal search bar and gives you reports about them.

Search Meter: a WordPress plugin Semicolon

This of course gives you the ability to learn more about your visitors, as well as provide more content on terms that you might not be optimizing for already that your peeps might be looking for!

DL it, use it, ASAP.

Andrew

I use a similar plugin - and sometimes I just crack up at the totally and completely unrelated searches people plug into that search bar! haha.

Thanks for the tip! Until now, I had no idea what people coming to my blog would search for.

  • I wouldn't call it super important. I don't even use search on some of my blogs. Don't even show search on the template.

How many visitors use Blog Search features? If you lay out your navigation correctly very few.

But I guess it's interesting enough. I'm sure this will be useful for some blogs... but so are log files and Stats.

Yep, i've used search meter for a while now on some of my older sites, but moved to Wassup as an indicator of web traffic.

Another good search plugin that also records the searches done is search-unleashed.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

I track that on some of my blogs... and it is just crazy how people type things in. I swear either people don't know how to spell or they just plain don't care. Maybe its a search technique I'm not aware of but it can get pretty crazy.

    Hey Andrew,
Great post and very interesting... Would anyone mind sharing their data about how many daily or weekly searches they get and are the searches related to what you have on the site ??
