Fellow Warriors..

How the heck do we get around it, email marketing is an acceptable practise for Marketers, how though can they justify sending 4+ a day 7 days a week to their subscribers.
I have just cancelled my subscription from a well known, and apparently respected Marketer..how do these guys make money, as Im starting to look on some as spamming.

What do other Warriors think? interested in feedback, what you think...be it positive or negative.

good topic... what is the definition of a good sequence to send mails out? some send every second day, some severals a day, which can be annoying...I agree... I am subscribed to several newsletters of some well known marketers, but most of them do not send out more than 1 mail per day...

One marketer I trust sends a daily email and her subject lines are pretty well-written, so I know if I'm looking at just her daily update or if there is something else inside. She will only occasionally send a 2nd email, and that's if she's offering a special product or auction aside from her normal sales. I don't mind seeing her emails at all.

What I really don't like is the emails that come out with one headline; and then repeat themselves with "Sorry, that earlier link might've been broken" emails later in the day. Who taught people to use that method?

    Hi,

That does sound like too many I must agree.

But at the same time you must not try to please everyone.

You must aim to find those who will listen to you and do like
    you.

    Some will un-subscribe right away.

That's just the game of email marketing.

So sending emails everyday isn't a problem for me.

But then again the ones that send garbage everyday are
the ones who annoy most and end up burning their lists
    fast.

You just have to keep the relationship alive by emailing as many
    times as you need to.

But keep things fresh and aim to strike a balance between good
content and offering your products and services at the same time.

I also agree you are doing your list a dis-service by not offering
    your services enough sometimes.

Those who like you will want to learn more and if you're not giving
them what they need then you won't grow your business.

    All the best guys

    Gavin

People who actually did send broken links did. Then someone had a light-bulb moment and thought, "hey, that's a great way to email the same message twice (or more) in one day." Like anything else, the monkeys saw and the monkeys did. And did. And did.

      To the OP...

In email marketing, especially in the IM/MMO space, there are two schools of thought.

One is the "build relationships and make multiple sales to the same people over time" school.

The other is the "they're going to leave anyway, so hammer them with every junky offer I have before they leave" school.

I know too many people who make money both ways, and I know people who have failed at both, to require them to justify their choice of schools.

As long as unsubscribe buttons and email filters continue to work, whether you choose to subject yourself to the churn-and-burners is up to you.

Strange and sneaky, even after unsubscribing from this well known Marketer, I am still getting his emails, just a little diffirent...from his office, whatever that means..

I am subscribed to some awesome and valuable lists, it's the spammy ones of 3+ that I find annoying..when unsubscrbing, I mostly leave an appropriate comment if that option is there.

I cancelled from Jayson Benoit today because he sent me four emails today.
Then I went to the unsubscribe page and it said download your bonuses after unsubscribed. It said no email for bonus.

Then I download and four are squeeze pages and at the bottom it stated I already have this offer show me another one.

I had to email him and tell him why I unsubscribed but I loved his tactics and wanted back on his list, the next email told me where to sign back up and at the bottom it said getting to many well let me find it and copy it. Hang on.............
The link goes to a google app where you put your email in and gmail scans your mail to see what your subscribed too and then you can unsubscribe what you want. Genius on his part for all those tactics.

If I receive more than 2 emails per day, I will just click on the unsubscribe unless the person is sending me valuable content. Receiving 2 emails per days is the maximum of emails that I will accept as anything more than that is consider spammy in my opinion.

I personally now have 2 email address. One will be used to join all the general list and I will use the second email address to join the list of those marketers that are really providing good information.
