Email marketing isn't dead but your message might be.

I've seen a decent amount of chattering about internet marketing being dead, and fingers pointed at the new promotion tab on google, and it just isn't true. What the google promotion tab did was make me realize what lists I've signed up to that I just get no value from.

On the other hand,there are more than one marketers that I actively check the promotion tab for as soon as I see that new message blip. I love getting emails from these folks so much that often I'll pick something low cost up from them just as a thankyou for the amazing content.

The new tab system is awesome if you have the right message and audience. Plenty of people leave lots of unread messages in their inbox, but as you start to thin the heard on your promotion tab you know you just got an email you want to read now when the little unread bubble pops up.

I'm starting my own list so I supposed I'll have my own opinions and strategies soon, but from a consumer experience I can only see that lists with a thin message and heavy sell have a reason to be afraid of the new change.

I'd love to hear the positive changes and experiences the new google tabs have brought people?
