Web Hosting Advice Please

Hey guys, could someone point me to a reputable dedicated server host that provides unlimited bandwidth in which you would personally recommend? Also the sever would need to be hosted elsewhere other than the USA

There is no such thing as "Unlimited" anything in hosting.

No, there's not. Even if it's advertised as "unlimited", it isn't.

What are you looking to do with this server? You should focus around those requirements instead of trying to get unrealistic service.

Unlimited bandwidth would equate to a 10, 100 or Gigabit nic, which in that case, you're limited by the physical limits of the card itself. An unmetered connection isn't cheap either; a true connection that is.

It's not even the NIC. The network hardware (or sever itself, if not dedicated) can further throttle it down. For example, to 20mbit, or 1/5th of a 100mbit port.

It's not "unlimited". At most, it's not metered.

Do the math to figure the max throughput per month (30.25 days).

One of my server is 50mbit, unmetered, and it might as well be "unlimited" to me.

List your requirement for what you want to achieve with your dedicated server and go for the hosting service provider that meet those requirements.

A budget web hosting plan with unlimited space or unlimited bandwidth is nothing more than a myth by any measure. The offer is a marketing ploy often used on cheap shared servers and rarely on vps or dedicated plans. When they are sold, the host will throttle accounts, limit server resources, and in cases of high utilization suspend an account.

Im not looking for shared hosting, which I know is crap when offering unlimited everything. I said I was looking for a DEDICATED server provider that offers UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH, not storage.

Bandwidth still costs money for the company. If you hit a certain limit with your 'unlimited bandwidth' they will limit the connection speed of your server.

No one said anything about shared hosting. Are you not looking at companies or are you just posting here wanting someone else to do it for you?

What you can get is an unmetered port. So you choose your server hardware then you can get a 100Mbps unmetered port or a 1000Mbps unmetered port. Either of those is a good chunk of bandwidth.

Just watch out for congested / contended / traffic shaped bandwidth which some of the budget providers do yet still offer the unmetered ports. This could slow down your site or prevent you from getting the full amount of bandwidth.

i have a good experience with Hetzner.com they are affordable. i used to have a 16gb dedicated server with them. they are very affordable but their support is not fast and not so much good. i also have tried server.lu they are quick and supportive but prices are little bit high . and if you need good technical support then vpscreed.com is best they are very supportive and expert in server management.

Most web hosting companies are scammers. Bandwidth is very expensive. In fact, I remember paying 30K per month to uunet and I was hosting my own servers. That was for a forum that had 400,000 members and I was losing money.

Expect a lot of pain. That is what running a large site is. Still, you need to call many companies up. Ask for real numbers in writing on what you will pay. Only then should you even consider signing on. Please do not get me started on the "unlimited bandwidth" scam.

Don't fall for the "unlimited", as there is no such thing in web hosting. The web host will restrict you at one point. However, if you are looking for a host outside the US then I would recommend Zyma.com. They have "unlimited" plans and although that isn't true, I've had a lot of traffic arrive at my sites and it's always been fine. It's a very affordable solution too.
