Getting traffic to forum

INTERNET MARKETING

Hello, I am very new here, and have a website that I have been working on for quite some time. It has a forum and I really am looking to drive traffic (or the right traffic) to build up the content. I have a blog that I am posting to regularly and am working on the SEO portion now. I am very diligent and patient, I want this to be a long term project, and realize the big picture.

I will have products on it, but for now just want to build up the community and get people talking. What are some of the ways to do this? that I may not have thought of yet?

Try postloop.com it's a great and affordable service to help you get your forum or blog going. It's very affordable. I've worked with them as a forum poster and it's definitely legitimate.

Build your community. Facebook pages, pinterest and the like. Look for ideas over at Social Media Marketing Forum

Running contests and paying people to post should work. People don't want to participate when there aren't others already posting.

Forums are really hard at first!

I would suggest posting in relevant forums with a link in your signature file. As you help people, they will naturally click on your link. The secret is honestly contributing.
