Which Market will work for me?

This is my first attempt at making money online. I am creating a niche site and becoming an affiliate with click bank. I plan on purchasing aweber and using a squeeze page to grow a list. I am also likely to use PPC advertising to drive traffic to my site.

Now about half of you have told me to choose a niche in ecommerce or fitness. I know there is more money here.

The other half have told me to pick something else. They say that there is way too much competition. Do I still need to worry about competition if I am using PPC?

I am doing this to make money. I am wondering which market you think would be best for a beginner to generate a steady income.

I am planning on writing 5ish articles a week for the website, if that matters.

Thanks!

I'm not sure I'd go about it that way.... if you aren't passionate about anything but "making money" you're going to have a hard time of it.

Is there some niche that interests you? Some niche you have some level of expertise in? Start there.

I would love to write about sports, but I am having trouble finding any products to sell.

Plus with sports I would need to write more articles, and I don't have the time at the moment.

Are you kidding? There are infinite sports products to promote...every sport is rife with products.

Shoot, just become an Amazon affiliate and promote their millions of sporting goods...you'll earn anywhere from 4% up to 10% depending on the volume that you sell.

    The niche you choose

    1. Should have good products, a wide variety of products, ones with good gravity.
    2. One that you are at least semi-passionate about.

Drill into the top sites in Google Search around the sports you are interested in and find out how they are monetizing their sites.

For example, I typed in soccer and up came Soccer Blog|Football News, Reviews, Quizzes (I have nothing to do with this site - just using it as an example). There are a few affiliate programs they are using including Kitbag that pay between 4-10%

These top sites on google are getting serious traffic, you can bet they have tested different monetization methods and affiliate programs, you can typically find a few winners using this technique.

Clickbank is a tiny fraction of the overall affiliate marketplace...don't stop looking there.

Wow thanks, I didn't think about that. That's a great idea!
