For the majority of people 70% of their time will be driving traffic to their website - while the other 20% is used to create content and research.

I found 1 simple trick that can increase your productivity dramatically -- only spending a few hours per day.

First brainstorm subjects in your niche that you believe you are very knowledgeable in. This should only take about 10 minutes or so.

Next sit down with a microphone and talk about your subject simply and to the point -- to where a third grader will be able to comprehend what you're saying.

Once this recording is made, you then duplicate it into several different formats.

Some examples are...

Facebook Post
Tweet Message
Forum Post
Blog comment
Yahoo Answer
Short Video
Creating multiple articles
Posting Pictures to Pinterest

By using the information you already have - you then turn one piece of content into several different types of information you can promote around the web.

This method will generate you several different streams of traffic - all pointing back to your website.

This will save you hours of time everyday, because you do not have to think of 10 or so different topics to write about.

I read something recently where a guy increased his productivity by stopping work at noon each day. It would force him to get stuff done instead of screwing off, checking personal emails, Facebook, etc

Problem is, you have to get up REALLY early in order to make this happen!

  Good plan, I also like to create mindmaps for different subjects. This makes writing articles or ebooks easier and later you can use the mindmaps in videos, twitter etc.

It`s something not very hard to do, but I have someone to take care of my content. You can find it not to be too expensive if you outsource.

Simple, I set up a task list or 'to-do' list with what I need to complete in each session.

It beats my old system of sitting down and then just doing stuff in no particular order, on the fly.

I also use Freedcamp - Free Project Management as well as SimpleMind Free (Mac App for mindmapping) to ensure I ALWAYS have things to do.

As a few of you have mentioned I have also found that making a to do list on what I need to accomplish the next day dramatically increases my work rate.

I have a mind that wonders as well -- and by knowing exactly what I need to do I can get it done very fast then goof off on forums and Facebook

  Step One - Get organized.
  (So You can spend less time at your computer)
  Be sure to spend some time with the family now.
  
  Make it easy to find stuff on your computer.
  I have one folder called websites and sub folders for each domain.
  I have sub folders in my downloads folder for each purchase.
  If it is a free download it still gets catagorised.
  
  Once you have it sorted it is easy to continue. Save file as...
  You can even make a new folder on the fly.
  
  Step Two - Time Management
  To Do list in this order
  Important Urgent
  Important Not Urgent
  Unimportant Urgent
  Unimportant Not Urgent
  
  Sometimes if I have an appointment I will write a note and
  place it under a set alarm clock.
  (Don't have to worry about remembering it.)

  A good way to get more things done is to have short term plans (written plans help more) about what you have to get done and you want to get done in the following days and try sticking to them (the plans). It also helps to try to make an hourly schedule, with realistic expectations, for each task you have to accomplish.
  Also, programming a 5-10 minute break each hour can help you from getting distracted during the time you have dedicated to your tasks.

When it comes to writing content, my biggest time saving method is the Pomodoro Technique. It's all about concentrating on one task for 25 minutes straight, followed by 5 minutes of rest. Depending on how much writing I have to do, I usually repeat that cycle roughly 4 to 5 times. The feeling of knowing that time is running out gives you the drive you need to buckle down and stay focused.

I use FocusBooster to help me keep track of my time. It's a free desktop app that counts down from 25 minutes. Try it out if you get a chance. When you do, you might be shocked at how much you can get done in a small amount of time!
