Hello fellow warriors

I'm just wondering, how can I know how many people have actually landed or clicked on the link of my squeeze page but they didn't optin, I've heard about google analytics, is it free? and what does it actually do? can I know how many people visited my squeeze page by using google Analytics so I can know how many people opted in and how many people have just visited my squeeze page and left without opting in, just like on blogger they give you a tool where you can see how many visitors you've had throughout the day and the week ....

Thank you all.

    So here's what I do...

    I have a $6.95 account at LinkTrack.info.

Whenever I advertise my landing page somewhere I use a LinkTrack tracking link.

The analytics at LinkTrack will tell you how many people visited your landing page, which sites they came from, and the IP address of each person visiting the page.

When someone subscribes to my list, I can then compare the IP address from LinkTrack with the IP address listed in Aweber. This way I know exactly which sites my subscribers are coming from.

I also have Google Analytics on my landing page to see how long people are there. But honestly, Google Analytics doesn't register every click like LinkTrack does.

    Hope this helps!

For Premium version you have to pay but the standard version of google analytics is free. You can view a full statistical report for your website or a particular page for the number of visits you get.

Google analytics (GA) will do all that you ask and far more which is part of the problem.

Do not try to run with GA until you understand how to add tracking code to your optin and thank you pages which will allow you to see the hits and conversions.

The bounce rate is the count of people who landed on your page, did not take any action or visit any other pages before leaving which means its a reasonable indicator of how engaging your pages are to the audience you are attracting.

I have used self hosted tracking alternatives but if this goes down then your entire world of tracked urls also goes down.

Have now switched back to Google Analytics

Yes you can do this with GA. Its free and useful I use it too.

There is just a simple code you need to put on every page you want to track and you will start getting data on how much visits, new visitors, returning visitors , paid advertising, organic search, referrals, how much time they spend on your site and on which pages and all other sort of various data.

For your case once you set your GA account and implemet the code - just notice how much visits you have on your opt-in (landing page) and how much you have on the thank you page after they have opted in so you can see how much opted in.

    Simple as that.

Watch on youtube some tutorial on how to set GA. If you have more specific question you can still PM me.

Many tracking programs out there and I have a few. I don't suggest a pay per month as this is easier but its more expensive and once you learn to track you will want to track so you will use it often.

Like I said I have many but the one I use is Adtrackz Gold I in fact bought like a developers version since I had a membership site and was able to let my members use it that way.

It's like 77 dollars and I didn't buy the plugin at the time wish I would of, you can pay them 20 to help you set it up but I would do it yourself. This is how you learn by making yourself do things like this.
I won't say its simple to set up but once you do it a few times its a breeze.

Yes, Google Analytics is free & is excellent for tracking where your visitors are coming from.

Another free methods is a site called statcounter.com. (Same kind of thing really).

I use these 2 free sites to track where my links are coming from (i.e. article directories blog site, etc)
