Stay Calm the Google Keyword Tool is Gone

I heard a few months ago they would be getting rid of the google keyword tool, to replace it with the Keyword Planner.

So instead of hanging on to a thread, I just started using the keyword planner.

Everyone remain calm, nothing is dead.

You can still find good keywords.

I actually like the keyword planner better.

You get more accurate details when it comes to search volume.

The average CPC for keywords are more accurate.

Over all it's not really that much different

So save the this is dead that is dead crap. Play around with the features, and you may find just like me that you'll like it even better.

Thanks for the information. Yes it is time we focus ourselves towards thinking positively and producing good results from this new tool as opposed to causing fear Thanks!

      Hey all.... new warrior here.

I am just *now* starting to get my feet wet in IM. I started out 2 months ago trying to do some niche marketing (and plan to continue to do so). One of my big questions is... .will programs like Market Samurai and Longtail Keyword finder still function the same or is google trying to put the squeeze on that too?

I always seem to be a dollar short and a day late when it comes to IM. I jumped into it right *after* google 'improved' itself. I am very sure that the system that I bought in on (google sniper) worked very well pre-penguin. I studied that system for 2 weeks before I started implementing it. I found a great keyword with low compition... around 1200 global searches amonth. Now the Google Keyword planner is telling me that the key word that I fought so hard to find and then build a site around is only getting LESS than 50 global searches amonth!

WTF just happened? I didn't even get a kiss let alone a ....well, you get the idea.. *sigh*

Thanks. It kind of gets on my nerves when people complain about something like this changing. I haven't used Keyword Planner yet, but I don't believe Google would destroy something by recreating it.

In other words, I can't see it being that bad.

Don't worry. Market Samurai stinks. Overhyped piece of junk. You are not going to miss anything if it cannot function with the new Google interface.

internet marketing 14,800 it doesn't seem to do exact, I put my quotes in and comes back without it.

        Here is Google's response.
        About 59,600,000 results (0.42 seconds)

Am I missing something, this thing sucks.
You are missing a lot apparently.

First of all, it does do exact searches. In fact, it only shows exact search numbers. It no longer will display broad or phrase search volumes, which I think is fine. Broad and phrase match were useless numbers anyhow.

Second, since when does the number of results in the index have ANYTHING at all to do with the search volume?

The two numbers are not related at all.

Despite your assertations, there are actually some features in this tool that make it superior to the old tool for internet marketers. And the old tool was never a "great general purpose tool" as you said. It was always designed for AdWords advertisers only. It was never intended for anything else. People just used it for other things.

I hate the new tool as much as google hates thin content affiliate sites.

the number of results in google has nothing to do with the amount of searches.

As usual Google is trying to snuff out the Internet Marketer. Where as the old tool was a great general purpose tool. This new so called tool is more geared towards advertiser and ppc. They did this for a couple of unwritten reasons I am sure. One is to make more money with advertisers and the other is to snuff out us keyword hounds.

For anyone to say the matches are closely related in search volume means I'm clearly missing something which I do not think I am. When I have a search that yields say ten thousand results on planner and I know it has millions of searches I would say something is wrong.

For the ones that said quit crying must be Google lovers. See this is why we should never rely on Google and I still think Internet Marketers should boycott Google. I mean I am sure we make up a great portion of there income but they are always trying to snuff out the Internet Marketer in some way.

Winners win losers lose. This just gives people who don't know how to market another damn excuse.

They aren't trying to kill internet marketers. Where do you think they make most of their money? People buying ads on the internet.

They don't want to do business with wanna be business owners who sell crap, and have crappy sites.

I get a lot of traffic from google PPC, I also get traffic offline. Internet marketing is just another way to advertise a business.
