Opt-in form directly on sales/copy page - You guys have any stats on that?

My customer base will not respond well to pop-ups and honestly I don't like them myself. But, I do know they work.

I have free previews of my product and was thinking of putting an opt-in option on the sales page.

I realize that you may lose impulse buyers that way, but you also can gain list growth which from what I have experienced is extremely important. Unless you waste your list - what do you think of a sales page opt-in? Anyone have any experience with it and tested it?

There are certainly many ways to capture leads. Always remember that the primary goal of your website isn't to make sales -- it's to get leads and build a list.

Putting an opt-in form on the sales page is a very good idea. Put it at the top and bribe you peeps with something juicy.

If you have a WordPress website, you can put the opt-in form at the top in the sidebar or even in the header graphic so that it's on every page, regardless of where they land. The best thing to do is to have your home page be a squeeze page (with an "enter site" button somewhere on the page) and also have your opt-in form in the sidebar or header graphic.

My own mentor taught us to put the opt-in form in the header. She told us that when she put it in the header, her opt-ins jumped by over 50%.

I know putting an opt-in form in the header might seem a little weird, but I've seen it done very tastefully:

    1. AliBrown.com
    2. EnergyBasedHealth.com (My mentor's site)
    2. GIWEconnect.com (My site)

    Hope that helps!

I personally feel that building a list is more important as you will have the opportunity to follow up with them. But as like many of the other Warriors have mention before, you will need to test with different variations so that you will get the one that best work for you.

I will personally put my opt in form on top and the side of the website so that it will be more visible to them.

Personally I would NOT recommend you put an optin form on your salespage. If your page is a salespage then it should do one thing -- sell. If your page is a squeeze page then it should do one thing -- squeeze information out of people. The moment you try and do both on the one page, the less effective your message becomes.

The only way I would ever use an optin form on a salespage is as an exitpop. That way you are only catching those people who were going to leave the salespage anyway and you simply offer them some type of free offer to get them on your list. But I would never put an optin form in the header or anywhere else on your salespage. It's counter productive.
