Advice on Buying Website from Flippa

Hi,
I am thinking of buying starter websites ($100-200 price range and with several pages of content) on Flippa and then work on them so that they can generate $$$. I have looked around at several websites in the auctions within this price range and observed that most of those with 100's of pages in content do not have unique content. The same content appears on other websites, blogs and article directories word-for-word or with minor changes.

Will such kind of websites rank in Google or should I just forget about them?
What should I look for when evaluating different websites on Flippa so that I end up with a great starter website that will be able to rank for its main keyword with a little SEO and backlinking?
Thanks!

Yep generally a no go. Most of them are PLR articles, they say not unique, but rewrite yourself. I mean come on. Rewriting PLR articles you may as well start your site from scratch.

I have a new site that i have started recently, and have plenty of UNIQUE content on it that was written by me, a native english speaker.

Nothing fancy, i mean its still got its them logo (not made one yet) but the content is solid and keyword research was done well. PM me if you are interested in it. Not built any backlinks and already getting one or two google hits per day. Bout two weeks old.

Forget them and build your own websites using your own unique content. You probably will have better ROI this way.

    Hi,

First of all if you are looking for something genuine, you should forget about Flippa. Many PLR sites are being sold there which according to me don't drive you towards your sole purpose of generating $$$$. They are not at all unique and are sold to hundreds of people. As you have also heard of "What you pay is what you get".

I came across many people here who bought sites from Flippa and contact me for helping them to grow. But when I explore them, I come to know that these sites are good for nothing and the buyer is just been hoaxed. So my honest suggestion, not to go on Flippa.

I am developing Affiliate websites for many warriors and others from last more than 5 yrs. Everything is unique, the graphics, the content and the designing.

I think I can help you to get a genuine and unique website. If you are interested, you can PM me.

    Cheers!

First of all, any site will rank if you do the right work.

Second, adopt the property developer mindset.

Look at the comparables in the neighbourhood to get a benchmark, then wait for the house that you can buy below market value.

That house will need some work, but you can then sell it on AT market value.

Don't make the mistake of buying a great site at market value, because if you want to flip it, you will have to sell ABOVE market value to make a profit.

There is a reason the below market value property developers make money, so apply the strategy to websites.

If you have around $200 to spend start from scratch and outsource content production based on the buying keywords. Use content based backlinking (PDFs, PRs etc) If you do this right your site should rank in 1-2 months (depending on keywords). This way you know that nothing BH has been attributed to your site.

Thanks everybody for your contribution. I think I'll just have to build my own site and outsource the content.

You can get PLR starter sites for a whole lot cheaper than that. If you're going to buy something on Flippa, buy something unique that has some traffic and revenue. Otherwise, you'll probably waste your money on Flippa with starter sites.

The PLR sites are cheap and you should rewrite the content and then promote/backlink, etc. If you just intend to buy them and launch as is, you probably won't have much success with them.

You would be better off spending $100 - $200 on getting quality articles created for your own website. Do some keyword research and get some content created to target some keywords. This will help you get organic traffic.
