What I'm doing: Is it going to work?

Hey guys, it's me again.

As a few of you may know, I'm a newbie who's trying to start list building. I'm in a very tight financial situation right now, though I'm slowly recovering.

Around twenty days ago (when I stumbled across internet marketing) I decided that I would choose the Law of Attraction as my niche. Fellow warriors suggested that I should choose a niche I was passionate about. I blindly accepted their advice and just followed it.

For over two weeks, I spent like three to six hours everyday learning, studying and working - doing stuff such as rewriting a plr ebook, trying to set up a squeeze page and yadda yadda.

It wasn't until about a few days ago that I decided to ask myself a question: Is my target niche even profitable? So I checked google trends and asked fellow warriors. Some told me that the law of attraction was still profitable. Others told me to never give up and continue because IM is a very difficult thing.

After reading the replies I decided that my target niche but I decided to continue checking. I did extra keyword research. I checked existing marketplaces. I checked blogs and all that.

But at last, I came to a conclusion: move on to a different niche.

So it took me a few hours to look around. I chose anxiety as my target niche.

This time I went through detailed research. I did keyword research for terms related to anxiety. It had a decent number of searches. I did keyword research for long tail keywords. Each keyword had around three thousand searches from USA alone.

I checked google trends for the keywords. It wasn't in decline. It was going steady.

I checked jvzoo for existing products. It had a good number of around 200 products specifically based on anxiety.

So after all that research, I decided to start setting up the things. I downloaded an Ebook of around sixty pages with good, solid content. I researched a bit about squeeze page copywriting and yadda yadda.

I'm pretty confident that I'm making the right decision, but I can never be too sure. I just want to make sure that I'm doing the right thing.

So I wanted to ask these few questions to you guys:

Am I doing it right?
Is my target niche profitable and trendy?
Is anyone in this forum making money from it?

Thanks in advance, guys.

I'm not sure anxiety could ever be trendy!

If people are making good money from it they are unlikely to tell you much detail.

Eventually you have to suck it and see. Whatever you do, add value, look at the people with ancxiety and try to connect with them. Slamming up a horrible marketing list building site will not build trust.

Like almost every niche in internet marketing, it's profitable for a minority of the people who try it, as affiliates. But the fact you're starting to build a list from day 1 clearly puts the odds on your side, compared with most of them.

Yes. It isn't one of my niches, but I know people here who are making money from it. The problem is that they're not going to say so, here, almost certainly (even if they do happen to see the thread), because outside IM/MMO areas, many (not all) successful affiliates don't disclose their niches in public. If I were in this niche, myself, I wouldn't be saying so, either. (You can see why?).

This is a different question and unfortunately not one that anyone can answer confidently without analyzing everything you're doing! You're list-building, so that sounds pretty good, in principle. Good luck!

The anxiety niche can be pretty profitable one, because it solves a problem some people are desperate to find the solution to. It's not trendy, but it's always going to be around.

As long as you have several streams of traffic from different sources, you're sending everyone to an opt-in to build a list, and you have a good PLR product edited, I'd say you're on the right track.

Glad to see you kept going and chose another niche.

How many subscribers do you have? How much traffic are you getting to your website? I assume it is 1 month old? Don't you think it is too early to consider it unprofitable? This is why they advised that you need to choose a niche you are passionate about. If you don't see results immediately, you sure will quit.

  • First and foremost applaud you for taking action. It's also good that you re-evaluated your first niche idea and moved on to the next one. Being able to adapt in this industry is key!

Anxiety is a great niche and something that folks are very pained by and always looking for solutions to resolve this. So it has buyers which is good. You may consider narrowing down the niche further and focusing on a certain type of anxiety such as public speaking, driving, etc. Sometimes getting tighter in your selection makes it less competitive especially if you can focus on something very unique that the big boys are ignoring.

But you're on the right path. Don't worry about a niche being trendy, that's not a requirement!

I'd like to know how you came to the conclusion that the law of attraction wasn't profitable. I mean, look at The Secret. The book and movie are still raking it in seven years later. Nearly everyone associated with it is happily selling related books and courses. Jack Canfield and Bob Proctor have a product that affiliates love. There are literally hundreds of profitable products (as well as profitable affiliate products) available in this market. I wouldn't call LOA a niche, it's a good sized market. I think you quit too soon.

I see you changed your decision on what you are going to create a site for. That is fine, but don't make it a habit. Too many marketers come up with ideas for websites and jump ship too quickly when they don't instantly make money.

Get a good idea for website and stick with it. Get rich quick doesn't work, focus on building a long term sustainable business!

    Hipiteehop! Hipiteehop!

Don't jump from shiny object to shiny object. You'll accomplish nothing.

What exactly have you done about getting your squeeze/sales page(s) up, and sending traffic to it/them? You will make exactly $0 until you get this done.

Jason is EXACTLY right. Jumping from one to another because you don't see immediate success is the worst thing you could do!

Stick with it, push through, be consistent, and be passionate!

I think that Anxiety sounds like an odd niche to be in, but overall, the thing that matters is that you are passionate about the niche you are in.

To pick up massive traffic and maximize your affiliate sales, you are undoubtedly going to want to blog plenty of high quality posts, frequently. If you aren't passionate about writing about anxiety, then your posts will begin to lose momentum and fizzle out.

I can't see too many posts to write on Anxiety!

The law of attraction is very profitable. Who told you otherwise? lol

Some people will tell you to "go with your passion" but what they dont tell you is that you have to go where the money is made. Plain and simple.

Here's the problem, you can go with your passion, this is a wonderful thing... but your passion may be a niche which is not profitable, wont attract anybody and you wont make a cent online.

You'll invest probably lots of money in it and lots of time just to findout that nobody is interested in what you offering.

Just imagine writing a 50 page ebook, doing video, sales letter, follow up sequence..everything and after that findout that there's no demand in it. Big waste of time and money.

Plenty of people make the fatal mistake of picking up the WRONG niche, they just think its profitable without even doing the proper market research first. So it is very important you "test" your niche before venturing in it.

    Use these market resources to see if your niche is profitable;

    - Look what's hot and selling on Clickbank, Amazon, commission junction, the jvs platforms. Clickbank is my favorite resource; pick the category related to your niche and you will see all the products sold in that specific niche. Look what's trending right now and their popularity and profitability.

    - Dummies.com. If you are not using dummies to do your market research you are leaving money on the table. All of their dummies book is not there by chance. They arent cranking out products which are not targeted to profitable markets.

Actually, they are serving you the market research on a silver plate.

Can you imagine how many ideas you can get for your products?

    - Amazon books section; go on the search bar, type the asterisk and click go. This will return all of their books. Again, look at your specific niche and click on the "sort by" drop down bar and select best selling. Plenty of categories and niches here.

Another thing that i see here is people that constantly spread what i believe is one of the biggest myth in internet marketing, the "competition" and they tell you to stay away from the so called "competitive" or better yet the "saturated" markets. This is a total lie. Competition is actually a good thing, it means the market is EXTREMELY profitable. and there's money to be made for everyone. Don't get discouraged by this. Focus on yourself and your goals instead.

Keep this in mind: sell what's already selling, just offer different solutions.

Be careful to not jump from a market to another one without investing the right time on it first. Do the right market research, see if the market/niche is profitable then STAY in that market and do everything necessary to become successful.

Good, in this case health is the main evergreen market, then it has its subcategories like: alternative medicine, cancer, surgeries, conditions/treatments, dental health, healthcare industry, diet & nutrition, family health, mental health, sexuality and many others.

Anxiety falls into the "Mental Health" subcategory. More precisely "Anxiety didorders" Its a hot topic so you are fine.

As Alexa pointed out, yes you are doing right to start building your list but, as her, i cant answer this because it depends on many, many, many factors Nora.
Every human being is different and what is working for me, may not work for you and viceversa.

You pickep up a niche in a desperate market. Health is a TRILLION dollar market. Don't you think it can be profitable? You tell me.

Dont forget that your potential customer is having some serious emotional pain so id probably say it'll be the easy money you'll ever make cause they are willing to spend money to solve their pain asap. You are dealing with people who are suffering and want to get rid of their pain asap.

Plus "anxietydisorders" is a DESPERATE niche so you have a big profit potential here. But as i said you need a plan before venturing in everything. So take your time to study marketing, copywriting, traffic, and everything necessary to succeed.
