hi,

i had a youtube account for my IM niche and it had all my own videos, own websites, all the music that played was music that i had rights for because i had rights to use it...

i have NO IDEA why my youtube account got suspended permanently for this account...

i tried contacting youtube...and there is NO WAY you can contact them...it's almost impossible to contact them...i go through contact and it just has buttons...which lead to nowhere...

i got an automatic reply saying that it was against community something...
i have NO IDEA...and just wanting to know if you went through it...and what you do....

    Hi BJ,

I didn't have my YouTube account suspended but I do know
of lots of people who have... in fact, I know of one person
whose business runs solely on leads generated from her
    YouTube videos.

She had an accumulated view of almost 900,000 views...
all gone just because she did something against the TOS of
YouTube. And to this day, she still hasn't gotten back her
account nor any of her videos.

Needless to say, her business went kaput and she had to
    start all over again.

According to her (I don't remember her name, just her story),
YouTube never responded to any of her requests either. She
wasn't selling -- in fact, it was videos of her touring the
    country. All gone.

My TubeMogul account got removed because it was of
commercial value... and when I asked them, they said that
ANY thing that's close to commercial value is dangerously
close to SPAM. So they'll just remove accounts.

This happened to me because instead of using their default
sites, I applied for more video sites to distribute my videos.

The best way to prevent such things in the future is to have
the videos hosted on Amazonaws and have it hosted on your
own site. It'll cost more - but you won't get deleted without
    warning.

    thanks for your reply...

i am signing up on Amazonaws right now...

as far as amazonaws, what video player do you suggest
    to play in your blog?

i know i will be uploading the videos to amazon...but
as far as VIDEO PLAYER, any cool suggestions?

what is the most popular one used by most internet marketers?

With regards to that, I highly recommend getting
Mike Stewart's stuff. He is an expert in this area
and can help you out - he's very friendly in handling
any questions you have as well.

I'll send you the links via PM.

They had to give you some sort of explanation in the email they sent you....no?

There isn't much you can do.

Find out and try to understand what you did wrong and then try starting a new account.

You can look to others sites, plenty offer better quality than YouTube but none offer the built-in traffic that YouTube has.

WOW it never occurred to me that YOUTUBE would do something like that...I think the important thing is making sure we back up all our data so we can have a record of all our hard work. If they banned one account can you open another?

My youtube account is still intact (though I did post a video about one of my websites and a video about one of the amazon a stores I have, along with embedding my amazon a store link on some of the videos I made from some games I've played, such as contra 3 and sims 2).

    Here's the raw truth...

If you are marketing "anything" on YouTube, you are running the risk of having your account suspended.

Of course it doesn't happen most of the time, and there are about 9 million violators getting away with it every day. However, it can be gone in a flash without a word of warning.

I wish I knew what was happening there at YouTube too. People that request a reason why just get a generic form letter mentioning TOS. They don't give a specific answer to your inquiry. The people I know haven't violated TOS or guidelines that I can see. YouTube says they have but I can't find it in the info available to the public on YouYube. The letter says terminated and don't create another account. Ever. And no warning.

Robert Plank did mention an video submitting service but thought that maybe they had submitted his with others. That one of the others violated TOS and because they came from the same IP he got terminated too.

Alvin Phang thought it might be from signing in with his Google account instead of his YouTube account. I checked and there are other people with Alvin Phang / gathersuccess videos still active. But Alvin himself is gone.

no i didn't use traffic geyser or tubemogul for this account....

seriously i can't think of any reasons...maybe on my profile i was joking around that i was a dictator and my friend was kim jong il...cuz just joking around because my website name is dictatormethod.com...and no, i am NOT communist or north korean...just joking around on the profile...have no idea

but all my videos were mine, created by me, me in my own videos, even the music played i had the rights because i bought the rights on a hip hop website...

dont have any idea why...this really is scary...

what's a good free software to download your videos from youtube?
and using amazon s3, how do you post to your own blog?...what player do MOST people use...JW player?

Well, you should have been saving all your videos. Maybe snag a cheap external hard drive for extra storage, or upload them to some empty server space you have.

That way if YouTube pulls the plug on you, you just have to start a new account and upload again.

There has to be some kind of rule you broke. Perhaps your videos were just too commercial, but I don't see why that would matter as there are TONS of videos that are simply commercials.

Maybe it was a competitor trying to take you out with some underhanded tricks?

Some of your videos are still up when I search for your name. Did you re-upload them? Or are those different accounts?
