The Tech Behind Keyword Tools?

Hey, just a quick question-

How is it that all these keyword tools have access to the Google/Yahoo/MSN data? Have they worked out deals with them, or are they using a script to "scrape" their servers or something?

Please, explain. I'm very curious about this.

    Don't know about MSN but Yahoo! and Google both have developer APIs that are used for that kind of thing.

    Google Code is Google's codebase. You can use it to develop applications for the search engine or any other of the dozens of services Google offers.
