Newbie here, How do I

Pretty sure i know one way of linking my paypal buy now button to my website ebook, but what im trying to find out is:

When the customer clicks buy now and then purchases my product either through paypal or credit card, after they've completed payment 'they should get a pdf link to download my ebook?

Im struggling to find out how to give my customers that pdf link. I dont know the steps ive got to take, if anyone can help id be very grateful.

In your Buy Now button setup, Section 3 "Customized Advanced Features", there is a check button to click marked "Take customers to this URL when they finish checkout". Click that button, then enter the download link into the field underneath it.

    Two hints:

    1) make sure your download url is something unexpected, ie. NOT "mysite.com/download or mysite.dom/ebook". Otherwise people will search for it and steal your content.

    2) fill in the "Take customers to this URL when they cancel their checkout" section above the delivery one, and send them to another sales page. This way even if they jump out of buying your ebook, you both get another chance for them to be a customer.

thank you for feedback, for example if i entered the download link in the checkout field, would i have to create a separate page in my wordpress for this url?

Ive brought products before and after paying via paypal, i just get a link saying 'thanks for the purchase click the link below for your copy' -- thats what im aiming for?

is that possible with the technique you described? and if so do i just upload my pdf link (as the download link) or have i got to do something eles?

sorry for all these questions, ive just started and abit confused. thanks for your replys.

Yes, you will have to make a new page for the download.

Another option, probably better, is to create a Dropbox account and upload your ebook there. Then take the share link and paste that into the Step 3 Paypal area. That way your ebook won't be on your site and it can't be easily googled. For someone new to IM like yourself it's not a bad way to have some security. But based on what you're asking right now, that might be a bit too complicated.

Here is a wordpress/woocommerce way of doing it:

Perhaps additional woocommerce plugins can help you out as well.

Some cause-oriented hackers recently hacked one of my websites. So I researched what they're about and then donated a large sum of money to the entity they hate the most.

The next time they hack one of my websites I'm going to donate DOUBLE.
