Default Conversion rate proof for joint ventures - how?

A fact:
When you want to do a JV for your product launch for example,
you need to provide a proof of the conversion rate from your
previos testing. If you can provide a proof of good or excellent
conversion rate chanses are much bigger that you will strike JV.

Questions:
How do you actually test your conversion rate, what tools do you use?
What is the actual proof you give to your potential JV partners?
