That's a similar idea.

I don't like that option because it rewards unique visitors versus subscribers, additionally there is no sort of login where users can access downloads etc.

I should also add that I don't like the above solution because it relies 100% on cookies without a login system.

If anyone knows of a better solution feel free to drop an affiliate link and I will gladly buy from you.

I was under the impression that BFM was more in the style of tell-a-friend and would require people to enter email addresses of others...

You can set up membership types and you can set up required referred number so they automaticly upgrade to the "higher" type of membership if they reach the number. They can send the referers via their link. So it's much-much more than a Tell-a-friend.

If you would like to, I can set up a "test" page so you can check how it works

A few questions...

Are the pages customizable? Like can I put a headline or video or something on the page?

Can I link directly to the signup page rather than having the user click on the sign up link?

Can the users' info be entered in the aweber/getresponse and not just into the script itself?

Thanks for the demo...it always amazes me how something that seems simple always ends up being an endless quest.

Yeap, all questions=yes

Aweber/getresponse:=the script can post the variables to the 3rd party autoresponder via the "post methode" so at the aweber you can see all of the details of your subscriber instantly. (geo area,ip etc)

Your freebie script looks very powerful and feature-packed, it may be "too much" for what I'm looking to do.

The BFM thing looks like a possibility...but isn't it off the market?

Norman Freeman's Viral inviter is the most powerful tell a friend script that i have come across.It uses same technology as tweeter. facebook tell a friend. So when ppl sign up, they can refer people using their gmail and yahoo email account and it would pull emails from their address book. Hence it is not using your server to send those emails so unlikely you would be accused of spam !

Not what I'm looking for unfortunately. I'm looking for a script that actually requires visitors to signup rather than just enter in email addresses.

The ability for someone to promote an affiliate link is highly preferable (for my purpose) than having to enter in emails addresse of other people or use their contact list.

In short, Joe Marketer says "click my affiliate link for a free report on pumpkin pie!" and those who do are directed to my sign up page where Joe Marketer gets credited when they sign up for their free report.

It's funny how a really simply concept quickly becomes insurmountable...I feel I will either be working around this or hiring a programmer in my near future.

I've read the sales letter 3 times and watched the video...and I have absolutely no idea what that software does...maybe I'm stupid?

I'm a bit put off by the talk of "tell a friend" and when I looked at it it appears to be another service that logs into yahoo and google mail and invites people...which is again, not what I'm looking for.

Also, all the code is encrypted which leaves me unable to modify anything at all.
