New Internet Marketer Here! Please Help To Answer Some Pressing Questions!

Hi, I am a new internet marketer to the health and fitness category in ClickBank. I would like to ask a few questions about internet marketing and I hope that you can help me answer them. Thanks!

These are the few questions that I am having trouble with:

1. What is a good estimation for my website's opt in rate per unique visitor?

2. Have anyone tried any fat loss products and found success with it? It would help if you share some of your insights!

    It's quite hard to guess. You have to split test your squeeze pages and see the conversion rate.

    However, there are some guidelines you can follow, like your headline, design etc. Another way is to post your squeeze page link here and have other forum warriors to give comments.

    Or, do you have your own coach/mentor? Then ask your mentor ...

    Ethan, I'm curious why you picked the health and fitness niche? Do you have experience in it or did you pick it just because you heard it was profitable? If it's the latter you're going to have problems competing in something so competitive especially if you have nothing new to bring to the table or any personal experience that people can relate to.

    That might be the first thing I would really focus on and ask. Is this the right niche for me? And keep in mind just because other folks have had success with it, doesn't mean you will. And the other way around, just because someone has failed doesn't mean you will.

    In any event a squeeze page opt in rate can vary dramatically especially with Gmail's new promotion tab. But here's a link to some industry averages: The Ultimate List of 2012 Email Marketing Stats

    Hi, thanks for replying. Honestly, I chose the health and fitness niche mostly based on its profitability and market needs. I have heard that there is currently high demands for weight loss solutions and stuff. Hence, after some research on the internet, I have decided to enter the health and fitness category. Hope this answers your question.

      Okay, that's what I figured. I'll be honest with you, I don't think you should pursue a niche solely on it's profitability. It definitely plays a big role. But there is the human factor you're missing. Marketing is really about building relationships and solving problems. People tend to buy or listen to the recommendations of people they trust. They can also sense when you're not really part of niche and thus are less likely to buy anything your recommend.

      Don't get me wrong there are some very experienced marketers that can fake it in any niche and still be profitable. But most newbies aren't blessed with this. As a result you're probably going to run into obstacles and will end up giving up.

      I always tell newbies you need to start with a niche that you're either passionate about or have a lot of experience with. I even go as so far as to say pick a niche about something you already do for fun. For instance if you're a gamer, then it makes sense to be in that niche for two reasons. One, it's profitable. Two, you probably already know your target audience like the back of your hand because you are one of them. You probably speak their language and know their pain. So they'll probably trust what you recommend more. And finally you're less likely to give up when you run into an obstacle or failure because you already live that life for fun.

      So I would really re-evaluate your niche. Yes it's profitable but are you really experienced in it. Can you provide value that people will trust? Or do you have another talent or interest that may be better. Just give that some thought my friend.

      Be honest with yourself. Again there are some marketers that can fake it and make money. But if you're a newbie, it's going to be harder and do you really want to be in a niche you really aren't passionate about?

        I agree. In the long run, it's better to put your efforts into a niche you have experience in, or at least passion for. How else will you compete with the other health and fitness sites if you're not keeping up with trends and innovating new slants.

Since I have started out in the health and fitness niche, I must as well master it although I know its quite a difficult task for a beginner.     Ethan, I think your choice of niche is right. Health and fitness is one among the top most niches. Only thing you must have something unique to place yourself in the market. for example a new method in weight loss, a new strategy in hair loss etc., When Someone starts finding your offer as something unique then that means you are growing up your list.

    I think the best suggestion would be:

    Find out a unique Offer
    Build your List
    Place Yourself as a brand
    Maintain relationship with your subscribers
    Then try for sales conversions
    WARNING: This don't happen over night. Wait for seeing the eggs hatch.

    Hi, how do you normally test whether your affiliate product is suitable for your market's need? I am currently thinking of using my squeeze page to get 100 subscribers and see if I have gotten any sales with these 100 subscribers or not. If I don't, do you think its appropriate to change to another affiliate product on ClickBank?

    Are you talking conversions to a squeeze page or just to your homepage? A good converting squeeze page would be no less than 50%. A great converting squeeze page could be over 90%.

    2. Have anyone tried any fat loss products and found success with it? It would help if you share some of your insights! No I haven't but you can use sites like Clickbank to find the highest paying affiliate programs. You can also go to the CB marketplace and see what each affiliate programs gravity is. Gravity has to do with affiliate sales. Higher gravity means affiliates are getting more sales and those are great products to start with.

    Hi Ethan,
    I think you have taken a very competitive product to market on clickbank but I would also say it is also profitable. I am not a clickbank user but I can say that you have to show that only your tips can really work. It is not possible to say that you will be having a conversion rate that is high. Conversions are regularly much higher for house details, new releases and hot traffics. But It’s optimistic with an excellent pre-sell or evaluation, we think the conversions will going above average.

    Your page looks like it may be doubling as both a sales page and an opt in page. I would do one or the other. If you are doing a squeeze page I would get that optin box above the "fold" I would also look at creating a better headline. There are many resources on youtube that can point you in the right direction for creating a good squeeze page.

    Depends on your squeeze page or landing page, the product or service and where you get your traffic from.

    If its for an item I plan on promoting to them later say worth 30 bucks I better have at least 30 percent out of the block.

    Now if its going to be for a large ticket item I would expect less in conversions. The commission will be greater in the long run though.

    Yes weight loss is a good niche but I would find a super micro niche to it since you will be competing with so many, ppc on that would kill all your profits.

    With a squeeze page your not going to get the organic traffic you need anyways. You need a landing page. Something that can be seo'd better than a simple squeeze.

    By the way that squeeze isn't going to convert even 20 percent. You need to first ask what makes a good squeeze. I barely saw the optin before I clicked off and there is no exit which for that niche you are going to need desperately.
