Offering 100% commissions?

This has been on my mind for the last couple days. I just released a product and for the OTO, I wanted to do what Empower Network does with their commission structure.

You know, where the 1st, 2nd and 5th sale thereafter go to the person who recruited you.

Does anyone know how this is done? Obviously Empower Network has it figured out, but is there some type of system/wordpress plugin that could automate the entire process for me?

I believe that what you need is software, not a plugin. It's probably going to be more complicated and expensive than you think.

Why not just go with 50 or 60 percent commission for the OTO product. That will work out about the same... and it'll be easy to set up.

Then, if you like, give a nice bonus for people who sell 10+ OTO products etc.

I think something like this will just confuse your users and make you look like some form of network marketing company. Just offer commissions in the normal way so affiliates can easily understand what they are getting. I think you'll do much better the simpler you keep it.

Ya I agree just do it the normal way. Maybe %100 front end and %50 on the oto.

You can use one of the affiliate solutions that pays out 100% on a rotating basis. Rapid Action Profits (RAP) does this quite well.

So for example, if you wanted to end up paying out 90% commissions, the entire first sale would go to you and the following 9 sales would go entirely to the affiliate.

Even this confuses affiliates sometimes as Will mentioned.

Straight commissions are easy and expected. :-)

As we know anyway, 100% commissions on every x number of sales doesn't mean 100% commissions. It can be a little misleading and that's the last thing you want to do to affiliates. Just pay them a set percentage for every sale made.

If you want a system in the backend like Empower Network, be prepared to put down thousands for development.

That kind of thing is going to cost you thousands and won't be worth spending all your time and money on. Just give affiliates a good payout that is going to entice them to promote your offer. for low end products 75% - 100% commission on the front end and 50% or maybe less on the back end.

I do not like the whole EMpower Netwok set up. It totally looks and feels like network marketing or MLM

That's because it IS network marketing.

Network marketing isn't illegal and plenty of businesses do it. In fact it was Bill Gates quoted as saying...

"If I would be given a chance to start all over again, I would choose network marketing..."

Alright, this is off topic but can I ask why people are so negative about Empower Network?

I did some research on them and notice more negative comments compare to good ones.

But they are considered one of the biggest and successful Network marketing out there...

    Am I missing something here?

      Haters gonna hate

MLM and network marketing has had a bad rapport for years... and it will continue.

There are positives and negatives to the company just like any coaching program/company etc.

THEY just exploded and because they are bigger, they receive more negative feedback.

Plus, this is primarily a internet marketing forum, so network marketing isn't their thing, which is why the feedback here for the empower network isn't as good.

      Take the good and bad.

You need a whole system not just a plugin...
You also need to follow rules and regulations just so your system doesn't fall under pyramid schemes but into the MLM category!
    Goodluck!

Maybe it's because that EN and MLM schemes don't have any substance to them?

I think you mean it has a bad reputation. Rapport is the connection you make with someone which makes selling to them easier. Didn't do too well in English class, eh? Regardless, the bad reputation that MLM/NM and schemes like EN garner is well deserved and not without reasonable cause. It's not as simple as "haters gonna hate".

Not sure, but bullshitting people for profit is a nasty business. My business is doing just fine and so I can afford to spend 2 hours making stupid videos like this...especially if it's going to piss off somebody. And yes, it only took us about 2 hours to write, shoot, and edit this. Nothing to lose sleep over. We're going to be making a follow up since it's so easy to take a dump on EN. So stay tuned!

Yeah, one of those rules is that 50% of revenue must be from consumers and product consumption...not affiliates and cash gifting. Which schemes like EN are cash gifting...which is illegal...and will get squashed eventually.

Certainly not a simple plug and play solution. I would stick with simplicity for you and your end user.

LOL what a fail, Will! It was actually Robert Kiyosaki who said this. And he only said it so he could sell more of his books. "the business school - for people who like helping people" and "the business of the 21st century." Appeal to authority is a logical fallacy...but it works like a charm on the masses.

Sounds like you need some programmers to help you make this system. Try one of the freelance websites to get help. If money is an issue, try putting together a great business plan. Present it to banks, investors, etc to try to get the funding.

I think it would take a lot of work to make it happen (of course it can be done). Just make sure you are careful about how the commission structure is set up. When Empower was initially set up they actually just thought of it as an affiliate pay plan, but legally it falls under mlm or direct sales, or whatever you want to call it. I am in no way giving legal advice, I just know it was an issue in the beginning with the company. Whenever you get into tiered payments it gets more complicated.

There's specific MLM software that will keep track of all that for you. Just do a simple search on google & you should find what you need.

Anything you have trouble figuring out yourself will confuse your users big time. If you haven't figured it out yet and you are the one proposing it, imagine how confused first timers will be.

Keep it simple, keep it straight. Sell x for xx% commissions.

    Complications will kill your business.
