Will My Affiliate Link Remain In Place?

Well as many of you know I write and sell my own ebooks but I also create ebooks (guides) to promote affiliate products.

For example I may give information about someone elses website and product and include my affiliate link to the persons site in the guide BUT......

I suddenly thought what if I included the option of getting people to buy someone elses product by clicking a direct link to paypal for example in the guide.

So for example a product is selling via JV Zoo so I apply for my affiliate link at Jv Zoo and then as normal create a redirect to a domain I own with that affiliate link this is as normal so far.

Then I visit the website myself and click on the buy it button and when I am sent to paypal I do not buy but I copy the url of that page.

I then insert a buy button in the guide which links directly to that url.

So my question is if I set things up like that when someone buys via the button in my guide (ebook) will I still get the affiliate payment?

good question, I would say yes but am not sure....
maybe you can try it with a "cheap" product? buy it via your link and see if it is listed in your affiliate stats....

I'm not 100% sure, either. It sounds like it should work, in theory. I'm with this test method, though - try it yourself with something inexpensive.

Then maybe test the methods to see if this or the old way would work best. Sounds like your other way was a bit more subtle, without the PayPal button in someone's face, so I"m interested in whether or not it would make a huge difference... and in which way.

This is something that you would have to contact the vendor.

I was looking at the affiliate tools for a clickbank product today and they had a section of "Advanced" tools. In this section they had the code to direct link to the paypal checkout page.

I do not think you can just do it the way you described, but I could be wrong.

Thanks folks but JV Zoo will not let me buy my own affiliate product at least not using paypal.

And yes I want to test if having a buy now button in your face as you say makes a difference.

I could be wrong (yes, there are a couple of documented cases ), but doesn't PayPal include a unique code to identify the actual transaction?

In other words, if you copied that URL and sent people to it, wouldn't PayPal see it as someone trying to send through the same purchase multiple times and set off the fraud alarms?

      Hi Ricky,

Hmmm. I'm not sure about your plan.

However, in order to test an affiliate link, you could try to get a friend to buy the product through your affiliate link (use a very low cost one as the test product).

That should show you whether it works.

Also, you could use a redirect instead of the Paypal button - i.e., buy a .info domain name for that purpose and redirect the affiliate link through it.

      Good luck.

I there are 2 major problems in this type of links

You are altering affiliate link target which is not recommended with most of programs.

Paypal creates unique id for every transaction ,so your target link should work only once i think
