Ranking n Banking via Flipaa

I have noticed recently lots of shady people on sites like flippa simply building sites, ranking them, adding Adsense and then selling the sites.

My issue with this is that they are ranking sites too quickly. A couples of sites I have seen have been ranked within mere weeks in top positions.

Which to me says they are likely using black hat methods and will more than likely end up have the site drop off the ranks or completely de-indexed.

What safety net is there for buyers of these sites?

While buying website from Flippa, you should look for websites which are designed well and you think you will be able to move on with the site.

Not for ranked sites. You never know how they ranked it and how soon they are going to be blacklisted.

If it's too good to be true, it likely is. There's nothing wrong with choosing to buy a small site for ~$100 instead of building your own, but buying a new website for $1000 because it ranked for some choice keywords within a week isn't good business sense.

Part of this is due diligence —*researching the site's backlink profile, history, etc. Another part is plain, simple good sense.

I have seen sites on flippa who claim to be earning adsense and getting 7500 uniques per month from day one.

You should be smart enough to see and understand what you are getting.

If you see a site that is ranking on page one then i would not call it shady.

    Hi Goindeep,

Rank & Bank methods (AKA Churn & Burn) do consist of blackhat methods. Although many people claim, most do not actually know the difference between BH and WH link building methods.

Spam link building still works perfectly fine and will have your website ranked in the shortest time frame possible (at least from my own experience anyway) - Even with Panda and Penguin updates spam dominates the world of quick rankings.

What it does not do is sustain rankings, you will find your websites dropping off very shortly. Hence, in relation to your OP, many Flippa sellers are creating churn and burn websites, only to sell them on immediately under the disguise that the website has a sustainable traffic source.

I would not go near Flippa with a 10 foot pole, i'm sure there are many legitimate sellers on there, but i learnt the hard way and would not recommend buying on Flippa to anyone.
