What opportunities are there in the Travel niche?

I don't see many people talking about the travel niche on here, so I'm curious if anyone here has had success with it?

I have an idea I'm trying to work combining the travel niche with another one. With my knowledge from my previous job and life experiences, I can definitely give some value and demonstrate some kind of credible authority.

How do affiliates usually make money in the travel niche though? Selling airlines/hotel packages? Selling itineraries for cities/countries? Or certain itineraries from specific travel agencies?

What's the best affiliate method of earning cash in the travel niche?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

From what I heard selling tour packages works quite well. I don't know exactly how this works because I never tried it for myself but it is worth looking into. Basically, find a cheap tour package, and then up-sell it on your website.

    Ad-sense also works great.

The travel niche is very profitable niche. I am in it right now so far I have made $393.00. That's probably not much to you but it means a lot to me. The travel sites that pay pretty good are hotelclubs.com cheapoair, one travel hotels.com. Hotelclubs pay 12% of the sale. That's the highest of all of them I think. If you can get traffic to your website and get good leads you will be good to go. You can get some good traffic from travel forums like fodors but they will ban you quick if they find out your a affiliate marketer.

Here's an idea. If you want to monetize with AdSense, I would target credit cards that offer flyer miles. Credit cards have a very high CPC. You could target different countries that people would like to travel to, and get high rankings on Google with long tail keywords using YouTube videos. Just a thought.

Awesome share, especially with the monetization options. I don't quite have experience here but maybe those hotel booking sites can be considered as well. I know I go through those sites looking for deals when I want to take a holiday with my family.

But you know what? I have this website that I created for campsite/hostel/training a couple of years ago. One simple thing that I implemented was an inquiry form. It is not even an order form -- just something for people who'd like a custom quote to send in inquiry. Me being the web developer, I want to make sure that the form works -- so I made every inquiry to BCC me a copy. And they have been killing it with that.

I see about 2-3 emails per day inquiring about group and corporate stays, for training, for family days, etc, each with group size between 30 to 100 people. Maybe I should've charged per inquiry.

Anyway, I am not sure what your travel site is going to be like. But I have always had this idea about travel, to build something niche -- target a specific location and aim for SEO. Maybe a website about diving in Malaysia (where I am from). Or nature's adventure in Malaysia ... and then perhaps partner with local travel operators like diving schools, tours, etc.

    Hello,

How is your site running? You may want to sell advertising space on a flat rate per month basis. Could you let us see your site?
