Can't believe this has happened on Fiverr

What a nightmare experience I have had ...and my first experience

I had a writing job and paid the gigs and my first seller produced something so bad, my 6 year old son could have written better.

Then I found another seller and ended up paying a lot more and he was very excited to write about my niche. I paid for the job and he said it would take 10 days. So after waiting 1 week I have a notice from the seller to say he wants to cancel, he has just decided that he will not write in this niche anymore!!

On top of all the inconvenience and delay now in the project I will have a balance in my account of $70 that I no longer need in Fiverr - I am not a seller being paid for gigs - how do I get this money back into my PayPal account because having this money lying in Fiverr is of no use to me and I need the money back.

Please can anyone tell me if there is a way to transfer this from my account back to my PayPal asap?

Thanks if anyone can help me..

See if you can get in touch with them somehow and let them know what you want. A tip when buying on fiver - go for gigs with good ratings and ones that have a few orders in the que.

I ordered some gigs. I paid through PayPal. Seller cancelled gigs. I am going to get refunded to my Fiverr account. This is totally unacceptable, I will be filing a PayPal dispute -

I have been told that if I do this I will have my Fivver account closed because this is against Fiverrs terms but I couldn't care less about this as this is not acceptable as I did not cancel...

Thanks again if anyone can help.

  • Fiverr is really hit-and-miss. One thing I will say for them though, their customer service has always been fast and helpful for me. Just open a ticket with them and they should get back to you within in a few minutes (in most cases).

      Moneyland,

Sorry to hear about your experience. I've come to the conclusion that Fiverr is not always the best answer simply because the barrier to providing services is so low and there's really no way to ensure that any given gig is going to turn out well - even considering the low price.

It seems to me that finding good, reliable, and honest Fiverr vendors and then sticking with them is the way to go if you want to deal on Fiverr.

It's not my intention to rub it in, however, the last place I'd go looking for a $350 piece of content at $70 is Fiverr. There are a couple of excellent writers on this forum that could do this gig justice and they won't bug out on you when you most need them.

As already said, first only buy from people with high and good ratings - many sales.

To your problem, just ask the support, I had this case too and they transfered me the money. It was about 1 year ago, maybe something has changed now.

Or just keep the 70$, fiverr is so great that you will definitely spend 70$ in the future. Believe me.

Just keep it lying in there, you'll eventually use it.
Or PM and we can work something out...I can write a few articles and you can pay me through Fiverr.

PM me if you're interested and we'll talk more.

You're better off using writers in this forum or somewhere else that you can verify their credentials.
As a writer myself, I would never leave a client in the lurch like that.
I never take a job unless I can do it. Paying $70 for a 350 word job seems a little crazy to me via fiverr as many of the people simply don't have the credentials.

I would be more than happy to do that sort of work for you if you need it done and I have credentials to back myself up..

Always request a sample piece before hiring them for the job. Getting something you didn't expect is very common when dealing online.

You paid $70 for 350 words on fiverr? There is your first problem. I would recommend you try constant-content.com if you can afford those rates.

No, he didn't. He paid $70 for several articles, and apparently they only delivered on one article and refunded the balance. He still has the $70 in his Fiverr account that he can spend on Fiverr. The problem is he wants that money refunded to his Paypal account so he can spend it anywhere, but apparently Fiverr doesn't do that, which, if true, is nonsense.

Not just you, a lot of gig buyers experienced the same problem. There are a lot of people who hardly knows anything but creates a fiverr gig to earn money. But when they gets gig order, they cannot complete it.

The easiest way to resolve this is by contacting Fiverr's customer support: Fiverr Customer Support and explain to them the situation.

Sorry to hear about your experience Moneyland, but I agree with some of the folks here, Fiverr customer service is awesome. They will work with you. Short story. I had a writing gig I had paid for that was going to take a few weeks. To the point, I almost forgot about it. When I looked it up, the project was complete and their was no deliverable. I contacted Fiverr and they told me that it had been almost two months and that normally they only work on refunds for a month out. But without a blink, they gave me my entire money back. So you know, I take the good with the bad. I have had some great experiences and then there are those we don't like to talk about. Either way it is a risk but considering the delivery, 9 times out of 10, it is good. The key is like someone said, check the ratings and check their queue. Hope this helps you.

This isn't anything new to Fiverr. There are a lot of garbage gigs on there because they have no quality control. Anyone can list gigs so there's no guarantee of quality. All you can do is request samples before ordering and look through their feedback.

Depending on how you paid you should get in touch with fiverr customer support if they have one. In the future pay with your credit card so you can do a charge back and get your money back.

Fiverr is sometimes a good place to get cheap stuff. But you need to check the ratings of the people. But beware i got caught on that as well. Good luck and hope you get your money back. Let us know how and if you got it back.

The money that you have deposited into Fiverr should be able to be transferred back to your PayPal account via Fiverr support. I have done it before, and I don't see why you cannot do it now.

The only way you will get banned from Fiverr is by filing a PayPal dispute.

I have always had mixed results hiring Fiverr vendors. I would not recommend hiring a writer who will work for $4 (the amount the writer receives after Fiverr takes their cut), but that does not mean that you cannot find a lot of value in Fiverr if you know what not to buy and you are willing to do your due diligence.

    I feel your pain.

Contact their customer support and demand your money back (nicely at first, then get mean if needed). You could also open a ticket with PayPal, but do that after you have already contacted Fiverr.

Exactly. There are some golden gigs and you can almost never go wrong with a logo assuming you looked through the sellers portfolio for quality assurance.

        Sorry,

I moved my post to a different fiverr thread I read and thought the content more relevant with that thread.

I had that happen to me the other night and a part of my post looked like I just pulled something out of the air and well, I don't want that to happen to you.

        My fault! :p
