How do you preQualify Flippa bidders ? Think I got a lemon.

Sold a site yesterday on Flippa.

Had hoped to get a lot more, but was happy to at least sell it.
I do have terms on my auction that payment is due after sale.

Anyway, I checked the profiles of bidders before accepting bids.
The winning bidder joined Flippa a while ago and also had sold two things last year.
No bad feedback.

I sent buyer congrats email last night.
No reply today.
I called # listed. An old lady answered who said she doesn't use the internet and
to please get someone to remove her number.

I still tried to have faith and chalk it up to a typo.

I looked online for alternate contact info.
I was disappointed to find that the website the buyer had tried to sell himself last year on Flippa is listed on BBB with Grade of F and complaints that he sold fake counterfeit items! There also several other complaints online but I won't bore everyone with it.

If the buyer ever does surface, I now am leery after this bad info.

Anyway, did I fall short in reviewing potential bidders ??
I sold a site nearly 2 weeks ago to a very new bidder and it was smooth sailing.
Any tips ?

Thanks.

      Thanks
Although I did that on another sale and since the guy didnt get back to me,
      I didnt accept his bid.
He wrote me the next day after losing and said he would've paid 80 dollars more.
      So stressful

try to establish a hort conversation eith them, if they take the time to answer you back then they are more likely to be teally interested

There are a lot of fake accounts of flippa, users use them to boycot their competitors

it is, my best advice is to talk to them, if you re selling a high end wesite then make sure tey provide proof of funds

But im guessing you sell quick sites, also it might just be bad luck

Hi girltime, can you DM me a link to the Flippa auction you mention? If they faked the phone number (we call every landline number to verify ownership, so it couldn't be a typo) that is grounds for suspension.

The advice in this thread is correct -- it's important to qualify a bidder *before* accepting their bid. If the bidder doesn't respond in a timely manner (they have 24 hours to respond to you before their bid expires), is that really someone you want to do business with?
