Help! I have a list of 40,000 subscribers..Now What?

Hi Gang,

As the title states I am new to email marketing with lists this large. I'm also new to affiliate marketing in a sense. I have a list of 40,000 subscribers that I have gathered in the insurance niche.

My questions are as follows:
1. What kind of affiliate offer should I send?
2. Should I do one blast or create a drip funnel?
3. What email marketing service is best?

Any other insight would be greatly appreciated

- MK

How did you "gather" a list of 40,000 and not know how to monetize them...

    What does "gathered" me...

Are these scraped emails? Did you buy a list?

Or did you buy someones whole business?

This would help us better answer you question... But to me It seems a little fishy... If its a list you "bought" or emails you scraped you might as well toss it out and start from scratch.

    Cheers,
    Coby

    Hey MK,

Most CPA networks got a wide range of insurance-related offers, so you better sign up to a few of them and try mailing those offers.

A quick search in Offer Vault found 464 insurance affiliate programs and CPA offers. You can browse all of them here:
Affiliate Marketing - Find the Best Affiliate Programs and CPA Offers from OfferVault

You should find few high converting offers that fits your list, and mail them one by one with a few days break. Make sure you don't spam your subscribers too much, and send some quality content.

Wow, how did you get a likst of 40K?

    1. It must be related to insurance of course, is your list into a special kind of insurance, like cars?
you should find some affiliate products in this niche, or at least CPA offers
    2. If you can, I would set up a sequence of some mails with several offers, but also free content
    3. aweber and getresponse are probably the most famous ones...

Join some CPA network (MaxBounty, Neverblue), find CPA insurance offer and present it to them. Now, regarding one blast or smart follow up depends what relationship are you with those subscribers...
I use Aweber and it works perfectly with me and my list...

You are a newbie, that means you simply scraped this list or purchased it from somewhere.

Now, aweber or get response is out of the question as people need to optin to your list.

Use something like mass email blaster or bulkhit.com

start sending CPA offers. go to affiliaxe.com , they have soe great offer.

similarly neverblue, maxbounty, peerfly have good cpa offers related to insurance.

    Good luck.

      Hi MK,

As per usual, Alexa has summed it up pretty well. If it's not an opt-in list where people have actually given you permission to email them, then most email service providers will reject it.

And much like many other important things in life...it's not the size of the list, but the action which makes it profitable.

      Regards,
      jim

  • It definitely troubles me that you have 40,000 subscribers and don't know how to monetize them. So like others have asked how did you obtain them? You can blast out insurance related CPA offers as others have suggested. But if you obtained this list in a shady manner and haven't really built any type of rapport with them, your conversions will suffer for it, you may get blacklisted by your list provider and your network.

So I don't know if that's the right path for you. Again it would be interesting to know how you came about the list. Because that can help us guide you and not necessarily judge you.

Hi, Mkeating ... the answers to all your questions depend on exactly how you "gathered" the list. It's about as simple as that. Nobody can really give you factual - or even helpful - answers without first knowing that, because the practicalities of what's actually "available and possible for you to try" depend on it.

I think you may have misunderstood "drip funnel": it doesn't refer to communicating with only some of your subscribers at a time, or contacting them gradually. It's not the opposite of a "blast".

The best ones are all the ones that probably won't allow you to import this list (and the fact that they don't often let people do that is directly, causatively related to why they're the best ones!), but like almost everything else, that depends on the details of how you "gathered" it. Tell us more, and the experienced email marketers and affiliate marketers here may be able to help you.

    Hi,

Do you already have them stored in an autoresponder?

If so then start looking for offers you can match up with your list
and start trying to email them consistently.

    As others here have said...

...If you just have them as a list of anonymous people but they haven't
got a clue who you are then just adding that many into an autoresponder
    isn't going to be easy.

My first question is if your new how did you get a list at 40,000 so quick.
I am assuming you bought that list.

Lists are horrible when you buy them and Insurance lists are even worse because
they actually sell those to insurance companies and by the time they post
them somewhere else thousands have bought them.

I have did insurance before and I know it would take me quite a long time to build
that list unless I was buying thousands of dollars in traffic a DAY.

The word "gathered" just didn't sit right with me. That and the fact the OP said he's not used to lists this large, doesn't indicate to me he built the list himself.

      I'm often wrong though.

You will no doubt need an autoresponder service. I'd recommend AWeber. You should test out different offers like cpa offers (pay per lead) and affiliate offers (revenue share). I would set up a 20-30 day email sequence and see what offers are performing best...then optimize your email sequence. At the same time, you could htink about creating your own information products which is much more profitable than selling other products

It's kinda weird that you have a massive list like that if you are new. How did you do that anyway? Did you buy something to increase your subscribers? Anyway, since it's all about the insurance niche, you need to find insurance products with affiliate program that you can promote. Or you can join CPA networks with insurance offers, and promote them to get leads.

Learn to write catchy headlines and emails.

Do a video review, post it on YouTube of the niche specific product and email the link to your list.

It's a great course that will teach you how to create an autoresponder sequence that will engage and convert the people on the list.

Yeah you should def monetize your list with affiliaXe.com - for best results! I would try their Casual Games and freebie offers. Pin submit/email submit offers might also work...

What you want to do is the create an ad campaign in their platform and pick many suitable offers to insert to this one link ad campaign an post it and let it rotate. very quickly their system will optimize and show the best converting offers more often to maximize your earnings.

    P.S
You can also put offers of different countries to that one link ad campaign and if you have subscribers from different countries the campaign will show only offers relevant to the user's country.

    Goodluck!

Hi everyone thanks for the information!

I will be sure to take a crack at some of your recommendations.

Seeing as using the word "gathered" got peoples feathers in a bunch I will elaborate. The list is a purchased list from a friend who has been working in renters Insurance. He purchased the list from a lead generator but never did anything with it. Now he is out of the insurance game and doesn't really need them anymore. So rather than just write off this list since he spent money on it, I'm helping take a crack at making a few dollars off of it.

I know this list is low quality so I don't really have any expectations. Frankly, I probably won't make a dollar. But if I can make a few bills, cool. If the list gets me nothing, no skin off my back.

    Thanks again for your time!

      Thanks for the clarification.

It would be a big mistake to send any email to this list.

The people who are giving you different advice, in this thread, are people who haven't noticed your later comment that it's a purchased list. Some people just read the title and/or the first post and add a reply to the thread without reading anything else.

You don't have those people's permission to send them email, do you? They didn't sign up knowing that their email addresses might be sold to someone else and giving their express permission for that?

The reasons why no commercial autoresponder company will allow you to import that list are actually the same reasons (from their perspective) as the reasons why (from your perspective) it would be a mistake to try to send those people email.

That's true, of course, but it isn't the problem here.

On the contrary. You'd be placing your own internet connection, hosting arrangements and domain registration in jeopardy, because some of those people will "report spam". Don't even think about it.

If you had happened to mention in your original post that this is a "bought list", the conversation would have gone rather differently, judging by all the other threads here in which people ask about sending email to "bought lists". This is - rightly - a huge no-no.

Just a little tip for you, NeshSab: sometimes it helps to read the thread (i.e. not just the OP) before replying to it. It can help you to avoid saying things like this, which turn out to be totally mistaken in the light of posts after the first one, but above yours!

You might as well start from scratch. Your story is ambiguous. Start from 0 and start building fresh leads. Advertise alot online, and you'll grow your list rapidly.

You can try to compress and refresh your list.

Start to send them good valuable information for free, engage their trust and monitor your open rate ( how many people actually open your email ). When you gather enough data about your open rate, start deleting inactive emails.
