What products could work for a weight loss related giveaway?

First of all, I mean physical products, not digital ones (reports, plans, guides, ebooks...). What products, or even services, would be someone trying to lose weight be most attracted to?

Pills? A EMS device? A treadmill? A vibration platform? A Wii Fit? A stay in a weight loss center or camp? A free liposuction?

    Hi,

A free personal training session with training plan and nutrition plan for first 4 weeks is the absolute winner every time (I have spent years in this game also physical not digital)

I cannot see anything like treadmill or similar being profitable model unless you are working very, very high end of market.

Maybe some free supplements but not the rubbish like akai berry or some other crap. stick to things like free protein powder or low calorie health snacks

I was about to say "liposuction vouchers" but then noticed you'd already referred to it.

How about physical copies of this book, then (it's very good, but not nearly well known enough for most people already to have seen it)? The Hungry Years: Confessions of a Food Addict:...The Hungry Years: Confessions of a Food Addict:...

In case clarification's needed here, I'm serious, not joking: it's a good and well-written book which will interest your audience, probably without detracting from whatever you're actually promoting.

(I'd keep well away from anything that people can swallow, as a giveaway, myself).

Not sure if you're trying to build a list or similar but if you're talking volume... it's going to be quite an expensive exercise ...
Even if you find something that's going to cost you a few bucks, add shipping materials and charges and you're in for thousands...

Honestly information is the most valuable thing you can give away.

I've done over $3 million total in the fitness niche... and believe me, it was ALL from just ebooks.

What I used to do is give my clients, online customers, etc... everyone I could find... I'd give them a valuable free PRINTED newsletter.

This newsletter did a few things for me.

One, it gave me permission to stay in touch.

Two, it offered my clients/customers/prospects valuable information they could use right away.

After all, my job as their personal trainer or even online fitness expert wasn't to just show them some exercises and count their reps. Hell, any monkey can count reps.

My job was to educate them on how to work out and eat, in order to get the results they wanted.

My job was to educate them enough so that one day they wouldn't need me.

And for me, printed newsletters worked well.

I made them free, so that more of them were given away.

But here's what I'm getting at. That printed newsletter can be a platform you use to keep offering relevant and valuable products... either your own or as an affiliate.

For example, in many of my printed newsletters, I had a section on supplements... and I'd bring up one that I had great success with.

And, lo and behold... i'd include a place where they could go (my site) to get supplements.

Say you did an article on whether treadmills or ellipticals were best. You can pick a winner and then show the person where to go to get one delivered (your site)

Bottom line, information is always useful, and has a perceived high value if it's great info.

And again, you can use that free info to recommend other related products/services... using it as a platform to keep earning an income without much extra work.

Sounds really good, but then I'm not sure it'd work if for example winners were from a small rural area, and this could be limiting factor.

I like the idea but most people I know would rather die than read a book! So I'd prefer something that would appeal to a more broad audience. I see that liposuction got a vote!

Well, it was my bad english, I guess I should have used the term contest instead of giveaway, because of course I don't won't to give away a physical product to hundreds of people. You are right, that would be costly!

Absolutely! But this time I'm just planning one of those viral contests where participants get tickets for posting Facebook updates or tweets or referring friends and I'm looking for a very sought after product that will entice people to participate. The only problem is that I want it to be related to weight loss, otherwise I would go with classics like the iPad... Your reply gave me ideas for the future though!

      Thank you all!
