How do you track affiliate sales?

Hi all

Noob question because i never dealt with affiliates before.

How does a company track its affiliates sales? What are some methods used?

Just to be clear....

Example: If I was giving 50% commissions to affiliates that brought me customers to my site and purchased anything ... how would i know how many customers each affiliate brought? and is 50% a good rate for a product i believe will be easy to sell to almost anyone ?

I need solid strategy for my upcoming WSO

    You may want to look at some affiliate management software. Post Affiliate Pro is good, so is Affiliate Marketing Software - Affordable Affiliate Tracking Software (not an affiliate link). There's a free version available, too.

    If you're running your own affiliate program, there's different softwares like iDevAffiliate and Post Affiliate Pro that can be used. But if you're doing this for a WSO, you may want to look into using WarriorPlus or JVZoo since they automate the entire process for you.

      There are many ways to track affiliate sales. There are many pieces of software that do this such as iDevaffiliate. There are also Wordpress plugins that have their own affiliate programs built in. There are also third party sites like JVZOO, Clickbank, Share A Sale etc.

    If im not mistaken ... when i release a WSO ... affiliates have to come and find me right ? There isnt a list somewhere with WSO affiliates I can contact ?

    It will be a WSO but the affiliates Im finding now are not members of warrior forums ... so they'll be sending customers straight to my site. Instead of the warrior forum

    You are best to use an affiliate tracking program or an affiliate platform. Most affiliates will prefer you are using a 3rd party affiliate platform since if you are tracking things yourself, there is more chance of you playing with the stats in your favor -- well that's what affiliates will think.
