Best ways for a writer to use Fiverr?

Hi all,

I'm very interested in getting small writing assignments from Fiverr. What are the easiest assignments for writers to land on Fiverr? Are a lot of you using it with good success?

Thanks!
Christina

There is a lot of competition on fiver for writer, but you will stand out more if english is your native language. Be aware though, you won't get paid much for your work. In order to compete you will have to try and sell 600-700 words for a fiver I would say, because people go there looking for cheap deals.

Another way to make money writing on fiver is doing forum posts for people.

Are you already selling your writing services in other places such as here in the Warrior Forum?

Interesting...how would I find writing gigs here on the Warrior forum? English is definitely my native tongue, and I've been a freelance writer for years and have had experience in book publishing now as well.

  • If you're a native English writer, you can get A LOT of orders at 1 gig per 500 words.

You can earn more with 'gig extras' for formatting, pictures and things like that.

It is low paying work, but the clients come right to you, so it might be wroth it to some people. Personally, I think there are many better places to go to sell your services.

If you can write - why dick around with fivrr when you could be putting work on Kindle? Doesn't make sense to me at all.

I think I agree with you Sal. I'm working on an ebook right now, and I thought fiverr might be a way to supplement that income, but I'm definitely having second thoughts now. $5 a gig vs. (hopefully) $20 per ebook sale -- the choice is quite obvious!
      Take care,

That's something, isn't it? Instead of fiverr why don't you try people per hour. Gigs are called hourlies there and you'll find a much higher paying clients than you can ever find on fiverr.

on the other hand, stick to the plan on writing ebooks and selling them over and over again.

        Good luck.

You should try and create as many writing related gigs as you can. Obviously you are going to want to create an article writing gig. Also think about doing other gigs such as writing review, blog comments and forum posts, press releases, about me pages etc.

When you become a level 1 seller you could also create higher priced extras like writing a whole ebook for somebody.

You can do alright writing on fiverr, but you should also list services in other places as well. Somethimes it takes a while to get that firsat sale on fiverr, but once you do and you start accumulating some good feedback, the sales could possibly roll in faster..

You should also try iwriter.com or bidding projects on freelancer...

People always need good content, and even though there is a lot of competition one can get a decent amount of work on fiverr or other freelancer sites.

You should offer niche related articles. When first starting out, you should offer more than what everyone else is offering. If someone is offering to write x2 300 word articles for a specific niche, then offer x3 300 word articles or x2 400 word articles. This will get you faster orders in and help get the flow going.

I'm wondering too - would warriors here on the Forum be willing to pay higher amounts for higher quality work? Or, are they generally just looking for quantity instead of quality?

A writer's guide you mean? To find new assignments?
I know Writer's Market used to be THE go-to guide for freelancers, and they have a website you can subscribe to.
